Christian Cashelle is a creative whose passion is to help others find their voice. She is the CEO and Founder of Dynamic Image Publications, an independent publishing company that focuses on inspirational fiction. Her mission is to motivate and inspire through the art of language.
Christian Cashelle’s writing career started when she was just 8 years old. After writing a poem for her third-grade class, she fell in love with the way words made her feel. After that, she never wanted to be anything other than a writer. Her poetic talent transformed into fictional characters and storylines. After the popularity of her fan-fiction novels in high school, Cashelle turned her long life hobby into a dream career and in 2009 she released that passion unto the world. Ava’s Story was released under her publishing company, Dynamic Image Publications.
Cashelle won the best author in 2011 at the Traffic Music Awards in St. Louis, MO, and was also previously nominated for author of the year at the African-Americans on the Move Book Club.
After receiving her Bachelor’s in Corporate and Institutional Media at SIUE, Cashelle went on to earn two Master’s degrees from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. One in Creative Writing and the other in Administration in Management.
Cashelle started Dynamic Edits, a subsidiary of Dynamic Image Publications, in 2013 to provide quality, yet affordable editing.
Through her journey of using writing as a therapeutic tool, she has also created Write to Recover, an inspirational blog that focuses on spiritual, physical, and financial recovery. Her Just Write Program is a coaching service that helps others manifest their writing dreams.
PWH: Describe yourself in 3 words
CC: Eclectic. Dynamic. Creative.
PWH: What sparked your interest in writing?
CC: Writing entered my life when I was 8 years old. I wrote a poem in class and the reaction I got sparked something inside me. I began to dream up worlds, inspired by everyday life and the things I saw. I believe it is my purpose. I couldn’t stop writing if I tried.
PWH: You have written several books, what is your consistent message in all of them?
CC: The central theme in my writing is triumph and redemption. We all have something to recover from; big or small. It’s possible and important to believe in that recovery.
PWH: You are also the owner of Dynamic Image, tell us about your company?
CC: I started Dynamic Image Publications because I saw a need for inspirational books that still represented the culture. There weren’t many publishing houses at the time who held titles like ours. It was either raw, urban stories, or very religious. We merged the two in order to reach a different audience.
PWH: Do you have any upcoming projects?
CC: I am currently working on my next project, Move the Needle, which is a romance. It’s tentatively scheduled for Fall 2020.
PWH:Bonus: what advice do you have for an aspiring writer?
CC: My advice to aspiring writers is to get out of your own way. Don’t stop yourself from writing because you may think you’re doing it wrong or no one will read it. If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop writing. Find your purpose and hold on to that. Everything else can be fixed after you finish.
