Happy New Years Eve!
For the upcoming year of 2021, we’re getting ready for the unknown. 2020 has kicked a lot of butt for some, and for others, it taught valuable lessons. As we continue forth, it is important to rest and release. “Out with the old and in with the new.” “Let go and let God.” As cliché and worn out those sayings are, they hold much value and truth.
2020 kicked butt for me, but in those tribulations I learned a lot:
2020 taught me to get comfortable with the unknown. As much as I believe I am a free spirit, go-with-the-flow kind of gal, I also realized when things don’t go my way or the way that I expect them to, I have a hard time accepting it. Like why is it not going my way, helloooo God, I made this perfect plan in my head.
Ultimately, God had to show me that things don’t always happen the way we want, but it’s the way HE wants and planned because His plan is bigger and better than anything I could have conjured up.
2020 has exposed me in ways unimaginable and made me vulnerable. I had to learn that it’s okay to ask, and accept help. I can’t do everything alone. Vulnerability is not a sign of weakness, but emotional strength. It takes a level of intelligence to process your emotions and release them in a positive way, instead of self destructive habits.
2020 stripped me from my material wealth. The very things that gave me a sense of comfort or ease, were now gone with the wind. I felt as though I lost my sense of purpose or value. Everything that I once knew was dismantled, and I had to start all the way over. A 2020 reset.
As a result of the transgressions set before me, I needed to rest. To hone within, mind, body and soul, and ask for help. To pour into my own cup. Turn my words into action, and practice what I preached. I had to release my ways and give it up to God, truly let go, and execute blind faith.
In my period of rest, and surrendering to the will of God, I could not give up. I had to get back up. Rest, release, and proceed. Even though everything around me was crumbling, I had to know that my pain was for a purpose. God was cooking up something and I wouldn’t be able to savor the fruit with the old mindsets still holding me back.
In 2020, God was trying to show that I am enough. We are enough. He is enough, and He is all we ever need. Not the stuff we hang on to, or the people we think we need, but just our very existence and persistence to strive to be better, is enough.
2020 melted my core down into gooey warm candle wax, and God began to do the work in molding me. Shape my wax into a new stronger base. Getting rid of my icky smelly core, and giving me a new sweet aroma and 3 fresh new wicks. My flame can shine brighter than before and my new aroma will touch the lives and hearts of those around me.
In 2021, I will have taken the lessons learned in 2020 and I will continue to be strong and believe in my own power.
With this mindset, you too can release the old and welcome in the new. Find your power and step into 2021 knowing that you can conquer whatever comes your way. Don’t give up or give in to the pressure, you are a diamond in the rough. You are facing hard pressures, so when it is your season to shine, your haters will have to put their blockers on!
Rest, release, and proceed. Go into 2021 strong and courageous! For God is with you, and he will never forsake you.
Welcome 2021 and God bless you all!
