Creating Spectacular and Memorable Events – LaKisha Mosley provides The LM Experience

Houston resident, Louisiana native and all-around powerhouse LaKisha Mosley is the Event Producer and Digital Event Strategist of The LM Experience, host of The Convo with Kisha podcast, and the chief blogger at LaKishaMosley.com. LaKisha is the mother of two adult children, Kaniecia and Kaylon, a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Mu Alpha Mu Christian Sorority. Besides spending time with her children, LaKisha is an avid reader, loves true crime shows and enjoys a good podcast.

What does success look like to you?
Success to me is actually living in your purpose. It is giving back to those who are wanting to make it in business. It is just total fulfillment of life.


What kind of impact do you want to have on the world?
I want the world to be impacted by my generosity of time, talent and treasure. I want for others to be inspired by what I do so that they can do the same.

What is the name of your business? What type of business is it?
LaKisha Mosley Enterprises, LLC – The LM Experience; an event planning and management company.


What made you choose this type of business?
After planning my vow renewal, I decided to start this business. I had so much fun planning and making connections that I thought it would be the perfect business to start and maintain.


What hurdles did you personally face in getting ready to open your business and how did you overcome them?
I didn’t face any hurdles in opening my business. It was smooth sailing. I will say that with proper planning and execution any hurdle can be overcome.


Does your company help the community where it is located?
Yes


Why did you choose entrepreneurship?
I didn’t choose entrepreneurship. I feel it chose me. I never aspired to become an entrepreneur. It seems that what I thought would be a one time things turned into an entire brand and business.


What would you say is your most driving motivation to keep doing what you to do?
My children are the driving motivation. I want to leave a legacy for them and their children with my business. When I get tired, I think of them and how doing what I do will benefit them for years to come. But I also think about how they are watching and will understand that giving up is not an option.


Have you ever turned down a client?
Yes. I have turned down several. If we don’t mesh well then we won’t work will together.


What are the goals you most want to accomplish in your business? What are the goals that you hold personally?
I want my business to be international, touching lives all over the world. I want to be the best virtual event planning firm in the world helping people produce experiences that showcase their products and services to the world.


Did you have any key mentors or people who deeply influenced who you are, what you believe in and what you’re committed to in your work and life? Tell me about them.
I have a close tribe of women that are an important part to why business is where it is today. We support, encourage and hold each other accountable. My pastor has certainly been an important part of my business. My children are the main reason for the drive and they influence me every day.


If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
Keep God first and don’t stop. When it gets hard, remember your why and keep going.

What’s next for you in your business/brand? What can readers look forward to from you?
I will continue to produce high engagement and spectacular events. I will eventually move into the coaching role soon and expand the brand to other event planners.
