Revolutionizing the Beauty Industry: The Visionary Behind GlamRUs Salon Suites

Timika Gaten is a visionary entrepreneur with a deep-rooted passion for the beauty industry. With years of experience and expertise in beauty and salon entrepreneurship, Timika founded GlamRUs Salon Suites to provide beauty professionals with a platform for success. GlamRUs Salon Suites sets a new standard for salon entrepreneurship, offering beauty professionals upscale and personalized spaces to nurture their businesses.

Timika believes in fostering a supportive community and empowering salon professionals to reach their full potential.

GlamRUs Salon Suites debuted in mid-August in Marietta, Georgia, where she showcased meticulously designed suites with unrivaled amenities for patrons and beauty professionals. Each studio within GlamRUs Salon Suites was thoughtfully crafted to provide a serene and exclusive environment, ensuring maximum comfort for stylists and clientele alike. With a commitment to excellence, GlamRUs features state-of-the-art facilities, luxurious furnishings, and top-of-the-line equipment.

We had the pleasure of catching up with CEO Timeka to discuss her her start into entrepreneurship, her passion along with her plans for the future.

Outside of entrepreneurship, who is Timika?

I’m a family-oriented woman, a believer in God, and I love creating new ideas that will expand my knowledge.

When exactly did you realize you had a passion for hair? Do you remember the first client that made you say yes, I can go the long haul with this?

When I was about ten years old, becoming a hairstylist and salon owner was always a dream of mine. I actually started doing hair in the 8th grade and have been doing hair professionally since 2010. Since a young age, I just fell in love with beauty and the process of transforming someone and them loving it. I knew then I had to keep working to see my dreams come true.’

Tell us about GlamRus. What inspired you to open your own location, let alone offer suites for other stylists to get their start?

After being a 15-year business owner in the industry, I watched the industry shift. Due to my having to relocate my first business location, I knew GlamRus Salon Suites would be great for industry professionals. Most beauty professionals want to work in their own private space and be their own business rather than renting salon booths. With Atlanta being one of the biggest cities in the hair industry, I decided it was the perfect time to open salon suites in Marietta.

What can women expect when entering your doors? Can you take us through the experience?

GlamRus Salon & Suites is a spacious luxury facility with top-of-the-line equipment and glamorous decor. Self-care is essential and I want every client to have that experience of luxury and always feel glamorous. GlamRus aims to provide a premium experience to all of its clients and suite holders.

What are your current offerings at GlamRus? Is there truly something for everyone here?

GlamRus will be offering all things Glam Hair, Nails, Eyelashes, Makeup, and Esthetician services. We also will carry premium virgin hair bundles, lace front units, clips in, and lace closures in our beauty store.

Tell us about the experience of opening your own suite location. What were the highs and lows of the journey?

This has been a fun but learning experience. There are always going to be highs but not until you have a few lows. To see the outcome of what began as an idea has inspired me to hopefully create a franchise of salon suites. My knowledge of business and owning a salon played a leading role in this journey and I also had a great support system and team which is important.

What do you hope people take away from your platform as a whole?

I hope people will take a way that as long as you truly believe in yourself, work hard and become fully dedicated to seeing your dreams come to fruition, they will. It will not be easy but always embrace who you are, and your uniqueness and be relentless in pursuing your goals. Also, to know that maintaining your physical, mental and emotional well-being is essential in a journey to success.

What is next for you?

What I see for my future is to build and create multiple GlamRus Salon Suites and continue being a leader in the beauty industry. I want to share my knowledge with upcoming professionals in this industry so they can grow and expand their careers.  What is your definition of a Pretty Woman Who Hustles? My definition of Pretty Woman Who Hustle is a woman who believes in what she’s capable of doing. She takes care of herself and her family, sets goals, and never lets the word “No” stop her from creating the life she desires.

What can we expect hair trend-wise for the fall?

Fall hair trends can change depending on the client and the vibe of the weather. This fall I look forward to seeing the ladies in long 20–22-inch styles with fringe bangs and body curls, that always gives a nice luxury look.

Guests also received goodie glam bags from amazing sponsors including EmBebaKyvan Body EssentialsRuby Sampson and, while enjoying cocktails sponsored by Greenwood Whiskey.
