Songbird Rachel Wilson

Rachel began singing at the young age of five, and has been a faithful voice in her local church singing on the praise team and choir. Through her life experiences she has gained passion to reach the unreachable. Many people across the country have found hope, encouragement and inspiration through her music ministry.

Rachel released, “Introducing Rachel Wilson” in 2008, which was produced by Greg Norwood. Currently, Rachel is an Artist with DAF Entertainment Group, with Darin and Adriann Lewis-Freeman, from the two-time Stellar Award and Dove Award winning gospel group RiZen. In July 2019, Rachel released her hit single “Praise Medley” which reached the “Top 40” on the Nielsen Charts.

Rachel has been blessed to spread the gospel through song on major networks such as BET’s Video Gospel, TCT, Bobby Jones Gospel, Atlanta Live, as well as the Emmy-nominated late-night Christian show I’m Just Saying, with Pastor Dan Willis. Rachel has been blessed to share the stage with many great gospel artists such as Ben Tankard, Canton Jones, Doug Williams, Keith “The Wonder Boy” Johnson, Luther Barnes, Earnest Pugh, and the legendary Pastor Shirley Caesar.

Rachel is proud to have recently worked with world-renowned singer, songwriter, and producer Carnell Murrell, along with the skillful and talented Michael Mindingall. The three worked together and released two hit singles entitled “Love Song” and “Anything”. Rachel is currently in studio, again working with Mindingall, and is preparing to work with Gospel Jazz great, Ben Tankard and others.

Rachel you began singing gospel at a very young age. What/Who inspired you to sing?

The inspiration behind my voice was Pastor Shirley Caesar. I thank God for her blazing a trail for me to come through. As a child, I would try to mimic her voice and sound. I was simply amazed at her vocal ability to sing and preach at the same time.

You have been blessed to be a part of many gospel platforms. The one that many of our readers are familiar with is Bobby Jones Gospel Showcase. What was that experience like?

Bobby Jones Gospel Showcase was an experience like none other. Growing up as a little girl, I have always dreamed about being on his show. When I finally was able to minister on the show, my spirit smiled from ear to ear.  That was a major landmark for my life; and the experience changed my life. Immediately following the show, I received a major connection with DAF Records, and signed on as one of their artists.

What gospel artist do you most admire?

Although I admire several gospel artists, I would have to say I admire Jekalyn Carr the most because of the ability that God gave her. She started from a young age, winning several awards, and now owns her own record label. She inspired me to know that I can do it as well.

What words of wisdom do you have for inspiring gospel artists?

The words of wisdom that I’m honored to share with artists are…to stay the full course, regardless of the process. In life there will be ups and downs.  But it’s up to you whether you choose to quit or not. However, quitting is not an option!!! We should understand our purpose as an artist; that we are messengers for Christ. We must fight the good fight of faith!  With that being said, let’s continue to make a kingdom impact on this world by branding Jesus’ life and message through gospel music.

If you could sit on a bench and talk to one person, who would it be and why?

If I could talk to one person, it would be Oprah Winfrey. She is an African American woman that changes the trajectory of black women everywhere! I would like to interview her mind on how she made it to the top and how she kept fighting for a bigger purpose. I’m very interested in speaking to someone that not only changed my life forever but has also made history and changed the world.

What projects are in the works for you?

I have a new single project coming out real soon through DAF records. It will be everywhere on all digital distribution stores. Also I’m working on a Christmas song.  I have a video on YouTube that is bringing hope and love to the world and that song will also be released digitally and dropped soon.

Monesha “Ms ATL Doll” Clark

Monesha “Ms Atl Doll” Clark, originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, started as a party and event promoter in the summer of 2014. Monesha has hosted several events throughout the city of Atlanta, Georgia as well as promotional modeling for several venues including, Opera Night Club. In the summer of 2016 Doll was offered an opportunity to join a local internet radio show as a host for a rotating chair. With Doll’s fan base and charismatic personality, she was able to land a full time and permanent spot as one of the hosts on the show where she stayed until the later part of January 2019. She then decided to pursue further media and journalism opportunities.

Monesha has written for Kontrol Magazine and hosted several celebrity interviews and events. In 2017 Mo released the official “Ms Atl Doll” 2017 calendar landing her the title of “published model” with FB studios of Atlanta. “Mo Clark” can been seen on several short series such as; “Music and Murder”, “Shared Feelings”, “Just Ask Joe”, and so many more.

In 2014 Mo started her own lipstick line which has expanded to lashes and several different colors and textures of lipsticks. Although busy, she still found time to pursue her passion of creating her own radio show, DaPostUp, which is now a TV show on Status Network’s Global Vision TV. She keeps you up to speed and in the know with what’s happening in Atlanta, Georgia. Just your average girl next door with connections in ATL.

Q: You started your career as an event planner in 2014. What did you learn from that experience to help you in your current business?

A: Great question. Honestly, I lost a baby in 2014. I almost lost my life trying to carry him. So after I went through that phase I needed an escape. Facebook was my escape. The lipstick line was kind of already in progress before the ectopic pregnancy, so once I lost the baby, I just started jumping online and promoting the by lipstick line. At the time, some of the Facebook groups wouldn’t allow you to out right promote. I decided to be creative and do my makeup and post a lot of selfies. By doing this, I caught the eye of several DJ’s and promoters that were putting together street teams and such. I linked up with them in hopes of spreading the word about my makeup line. That experience taught me that I didn’t want to promote lol. It involved showing up at the club and staying out All times of the  night. I didn’t want to do that, so I decided to end that career.

Q:Your lipstick line also launched in 2014. What’s the name of it and what inspired you to go into cosmetics?

A: The name of the lipstick line is “Myka J” and it stands for my daughters and my son that I lost. So Myka J (Mya, Kamey, and Jordyan). I was inspired to do cosmetics because I loved the bright colors snd I wasn’t seeing a lot of people of color that were comfortable wearing them. I wanted to break that. Also I wanted to start something that my daughters could continue to grow.

Q: How did you coin the name “Ms Atl Doll”?

A: I used that as my promo name. I’m small in stature and I’m located in Atl… so that’s that.

Q: As a radio show host, what is the most interesting interview you can remember? What did you take away from it?

A:  I truly enjoyed interviewing HotBoy Turk and his wife Emani. Turk was very open up Cash Money and the rapper life. They were candid about being married and how Emani dealt with Turk’s being locked up.

Q: You have your own radio show now called DaPost Up which warped into a TV show. Tell our readers what DaPost Up is about and where they caCosmetics?

A:  DaPostUp us a fun show! I enjoy having my own show. I’ve been a part of shows that didn’t like me to talk about certain things. With my show I get to report ALL things entertainment. Whether it’s music, stocks, tragedy of triumph. No boundaries. I love being able to interview people from all walks of life! I don’t need to interview EVERY famous person. I like entrepreneurs, authors, singers, actors, models, realtors, and so many more.

Q: Finally, 2021 is the year of taking everything we lost during COVID back. What do you have on deck for 2021?

A:  I actually didn’t stop. I kept working via covid, whether it was Instagram Live or zoom.  I was in a short film entitled “Shared Feelings”, and I kept cohosting “One on One with Johnnie Cabbell with Cohost Ashley and Mo Clark”. I definitely expect to do more this year. My client Cheating Ass Myron is about to go on tour with his comedy. My other client Razi is dropping a new music video on BET jams soon. So in addition to my cosmetic line and tv show, I’ve been doing PR work and helping industry professionals get their press kits together and pitching them to magazines for write ups.

Leading Lady

Do you ever wonder what the definition of a Leading Lady is? Like truly what that means? I often sit and wonder about the definition of things because…well, my mother made us read the dictionary and encyclopedias growing up so I’m always looking for knowledge.

By definition, Leading Lady is “the actress playing the principal female part in a movie, play, or television show” (dictionary.com). So just by this definition alone I instantly had other questions. Why can’t a Leading Lady be a non actress just living an everyday life? Then it dawned on me…that is exactly what my definition of a Leading Lady really is. A phenomenal woman who is doing it all and making life grand not only for herself but for others in her presence far and wide.

Ladies, we are all Leading Ladies! We wear a million different costumes everyday and act out whatever is needed in that moment. We are, for a lack of a better word, AMAZING! The way we navigate through the storms of life and bring awareness to things we are passionate about takes quite the acting and honey I’m here to tell you that there is no acting school in this world that can teach that!

Keep being the Leading Lady! You are deserving of all that comes your way Queen and don’t ever forget that you are the Oscar!

Tania Richardson- The Leading Lady

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Tania Richardson was born to be successful. A 40-something savvy businesswoman with over 15 years of owning and operating two businesses, Richardson symbolizes independence and power.

Her career and personal life have covered multiple disciplines. As a commercial actress, a Desert Storm Army veteran, an avid traveler, and a former Real Housewives of Atlanta season two recurring cast member—the most popular of the Real Housewives franchise that maintained an average of 1.495 million weekly viewers—she strives for perfection.

William Shakespeare stated, “Be not afraid of greatness; some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.”

In an interview with The Exchange Story, she shared her definition of success:

My definition of success is when your money works for you…not when you work for your money! I know this is a cliché but I believe that long gone are the days when you go to work for someone else and receive a paycheck for the hours worked. Only to find out that your BOSS is never going to pay you enough to live next door to her. When you can follow your passion and do what you love, your money then begins to work for you! But success isn’t only about how much money you make or where you live. Ultimately, it’s about the difference you make in people’s lives, and waking up with a smile on your face because you enjoy what you do.

A woman of fashion, whose style, according to Fashion Bomb Daily, is “very alluring and sophisticated,” was disappointed after her finding after research that advertisers cater less to women 40–55 years old.

In fact, a report by Girlpower Marketing found that disposable incomes are highest for boomer women aged 45-54. They are at the peak of their careers, and statistically, are the least impacted by the recession. Boomer women buy 65 percent of new cars, 91 percent of new homes, and 92 percent of travel but, 91 percent feel that marketers do not understand them while brands are still having a hard time recognizing it.

With that in mind, Richardson put her foot forward and created Hey Lady ™, an informative YouTube original, and social media platform movement to change the stigma of what women over forty look like. The mission is to motivate, empower, and encourage women to live their best lives.

The platform features beautiful and powerful women over forty who have a passion for fashion, a love of travel, and an interest in owning or growing a business.

Hey Lady is a movement that is building organically. The objective is to use Richardson’s life as an inspiration to women around the world to know that life truly begins at forty. Expectations for the brand is that it becomes a global phenomenon where mentorship programs for young ladies are built.

“We are our biggest advocates and representation matters,” she explains. “When women see other women living their best life, this will hopefully reignite what may be missing in their lives. It is important to see positive images of women being more than a mom.”

This year has not been without challenges. Between product development and production, Richardson’s workload has been overwhelming. However, her top challenge is brand awareness and brand recognition. “My audience must identify my brand based on visual indicators as my logo and colors, but l need to elicit feelings and emotions in my target audience, and this is not my lane,” she states.

She addressed this challenge by hiring seasoned professionals that have produced and are implementing a strategic communications plan (public relations, social media, and content marketing). “The plan is for my company to gradually gain national publicity and social media followers, and so far I’ve been reading feedback about how much our supporters are inspired by and believe in our message.”

Besides being a mother of an amazing seventeen-year-old son, her biggest accomplishment to date was taking on a new business venture by launching Hey Lady . “I stepped out on faith and believed it would happen,” she states.

And although she’s no stranger to business—representing a fortune 500 company and securing over four thousand clients consistently for eight years—building a lifestyle platform for women, that is organically turning into a movement was a completely new entrepreneurial move for her. While 2020 was about launching the business, she says, “2021 will be about continuing the movement.”

An individual who pushes others to create their best work, she is passionate about life. She’s a daughter, sister, aunt, and mother of a seventeen-year-old son whom she co-parents with former fiancé and former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Kordell Stewart. She has no regrets in life and serves as a beacon for all to follow. She stand by her favorite quote, “I don’t make excuses, I make adjustments.”

Hey Lady💋™ is a brand that is geared towards women 40 and up. Thank you for thinking of us! What was your inspiration behind creating an age-specific brand?

There was no brand specifically targeted to the forty and over demographic. I noticed that advertisers market to millennials and seniors for the most part.

The peak earning potential and spending power between the age of 45-54 is higher than any other group. I wanted to shed a light on an otherwise forgotten group of women. I also wanted to change the narrative to show that LIFE truly does begin at forty.

In the fashion industry, there are not only a lot of brands geared towards women 40 and up, but there also aren’t many brands geared towards plus-size models either. What will Hey Lady bring onto the scene for plus-size models like myself?

Our clothing runs from small to 6XL depending on the garment. There’s something for everyone!

Let’s Talk about Wine Down Wednesday! You host Wine Down Wednesday to showcase women in all walks of life on IG Live. As you know, there are many Wine Down Wednesday platforms currently. What sets your platform apart from others?

What differentiates our Wine Down Wednesday is that we feature a different “Lady of the Week” from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. We talk about a myriad of topics. Additionally, we are providing a platform for mentoring women who want to become business owners or are already business owners and need a bit of guidance to get to the next level.

Tania, being a 15-year entrepreneur is AMAZING. What tips can you give our readers about sustaining their entrepreneurship? What keeps you going?

Remember, it’s your calling and it wasn’t a conference call therefore you need to block out noise from friends and family who may mean well but don’t understand your vision. Turn your passion into your purpose and it will never feel like work. Failure is not final.

You’ve done acting, you currently own and operate an insurance agency among all the many other attributes you possess, which of your many endeavors give you the most value of satisfaction?

Launching Hey Lady💋™ has truly given me the greatest joy and satisfaction. This brand is growing organically. The response to what we are doing has been overwhelming. Also, seeing women wearing the Hey Lady💋TM logo is so gratifying to me. It means that women want to be part of the movement that is being created and they relate to the message of “ Being a lady never goes out of style!”

I absolutely love your tagline “Being a Lady Never Goes Out of Style” and you hit the nail right on the head with this one. Why is this tagline important to your brand?

I wanted the brand to be synonymous with being a lady. When I think of the word lady I think of class, sophistication, savoir-faire, and style.  I want  ALL women to know that you don’t have to show it ALL to feel attractive or to get “noticed!” Somewhere along the way, the messaging has changed about having standards and respect for oneself. When I think of a lady  I imagine, Michelle Obama, Viola Davis, Phylicia Rashad, and Diahann Carol. All of these women had an air of grace and class.

Inspiring and encouraging women to be their very best is something that many of us as women love doing. With that said, what obstacles have you encountered in the industry that you have had to fight to get your desire across to mainstream?

Growing my brand has been organic and has taken a life of its own. Over the last three years, I have been testing the market specifically through Pinterest. Because I had an established audience the challenge was now to turn followers into customers and for them to believe in what we are selling. The growth in sales has steadily increased since our launch.

You know we could not have this interview without addressing your time on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. How did being on that show attribute to success in your other business ventures? What is one thing you took away from that experience and why?

Being on the show taught me how to leverage my following as a businesswoman. It showed me the importance of owning my intellectual property as well. It also showed me the importance of being a champion for other women as Reality TV typically shows the opposite. Because being a lady never goes out of style.

Felicia Baxley – Just Write It!

A four-time author, Felicia is redirecting her writing path to embrace the genre she really enjoys. After having written two Christian lifestyles and a self help book to encourage entrepreneurs to build their own empires; she is now debuting her first Thriller.

Felicia is originally from Milledgeville, GA and has been writing since she was in elementary school. Her writing has not only helped her manage her own mental health struggles, but she helps others tell their story as well. Having written her first three books, she found a passion in helping others get their stories out in the world, sharing their testimonies and struggles. Felicia started Hustle Write Publication LLC in 2021 where she not only publishes her own fiction, but also offers ghostwriting services for those who aren’t confident in their own ability to put their words together on paper.

Through her business, she offers ghostwriting, mini coaching sessions, and shares information through a blog that encourages writers to build multiple income streams with their work.

Felicia has written the works she felt she needed to help people look into themselves, now she is excited to be writing for the purpose of entertainment. Her debut thriller, Behind the Blue Elevator releases April 2021. She hopes that it not only entertains, but paves the way for her to further help others.

. Felicia, your background is impeccable as an author. You’ve written books for Christian lifestyle, as well as self help books. Now you are shifting gears! What made you want to write a thriller?

I’ve written stories and fiction since I was in elementary school. My mind turns a little different than some people and my desire to write the type of things I like to read has always been there. My first few books I feel were more of something I NEEDED to do, and now that I’ve shared that information, I can focus on what I WANT to do, which is write thrillers and suspense.

Behind the Blue Elevator, is to be released in April 2021.  Reading the preface of your newest thriller I definitely wanted to know more.  What can you tell us about this new thriller without giving us all the tea?

According to my editor, it has many layers. I don’t even know if that was my intent :). But yeah, Behind the Blue Elevator presents a company so stressful to work for that the CEO goes the extra mile in every area to ensure stress relievers are available for everyone. Among one of these options is a Suicide Elevator. The story pretty much follows the elevator operators recollection of this job and his own psyche the more he worked there. Of course there are a few twists and turns to look forward to.

Hustle Write Publication LLC is your newest project. As a fellow Ghostwriter, can you share with our readers what fuels your fire to help others to get their stories told?

After sharing my first few books, I came to realize that everyone has some strt of story to tell, and someone out there who needs to hear it. I know that not everyone is confident that they can effectively portray their testimony in words, which is why I offer writing services. I want to help people get their stories to the individuals that need it, and help them create a passive source of income.

Now that we are claiming “Bestseller” and “Best Thriller” for Behind the Blue Elevator, what things do you have in the works?

I’m definitely working on the plot and twists for my next thriller. “The Watchtower.” I’ve been putting more effort into Behind the Blue Elevator to get released and taking a break from writing for a bit, but I’m excited to work on the next project and determine when I’ll release it.

Lastly Felicia, what advice do you have for someone who is waiting on the right moment to tell their story?

The moment is now. Your life is ever changing and ever evolving. You’ll always have new things to share. The right moment is the moment you start moving forward with your project. The best thing about it being your story, you can always set it up to add to later.

What is your definition of a Pretty Woman Who Hustle’s?
A Pretty Woman Who Hustle’s is a woman who takes her goals and aspirations seriously. One who does everything they can to obtain goals and reach aspirations. Facing obstacles head on and rushing past them.

Her heart and passion to liberate, illuminate and motivate others has appropriately nick-named her “wise words woman.”

Also known as “Author Stone,” Angela is an Augusta, Ga., native, positive words powerhouse that utilizes her personal life experiences of struggle, strength, and success to captivate audiences and readers abroad. Angela resigned from twenty years in the corporate world to embrace the purpose that has pursued her throughout life – to be unmasked, unchained and untamed. She struggled through a lavish but sorely lacking lifestyle as a former NFL wife. That chapter in her life produced the transparency in her inspiring inquiring minds want to know auto-biography, ‘Reality to Rags to Riches; The Story and Life of an Ex-NFL Wife.” Angela has graced influential platforms across the globe and is also a featured author in the “Women Who Lead” anthology that chronicles successful women across the globe.

Angela you are a woman with many talents! Motivational Speaker, Author, Ghostwriter just to name a few. Which of these platforms give you the most gratification and why?

Being a positive influence through words is my greatest attribute- I share struggles and successes to impact others to live vicariously through themselves. When on the outside looking into the lives of others, you can’t see everything that’s in their frame.

You were previously married to a NFL player and you speak about your struggles. What one piece of advice can you give other women who are aspiring to marry professional athletes?

Every person and experience is different. Not all of my journey in that lifestyle was negative. Just make sure you know who you are, what you stand for and don’t conform or compromise to be a part of societal cookie-cutter stigmas.

One of your books, “Reality to Rags to Riches – The Story and Life of an Ex-NFL Wife” is your autobiography. If you could pitch this book in one word, what would it be and why?

S.E.L.F (Shine, Evolve, Love & Fulfill)-  The acronym encompasses everything I had to make a priority in my life in order to become the person I am today. I had to stop allowing others to dim my light. I had to grow. I had to love myself before I could love others. I had to live a fulfilling life.

“Sentiments by Stone” is so very engaging and felt very personal when I went through them. What inspires you when you’re writing?

Telling the truth sets you free- I want to be free and I desire to help others be free.Words are so powerful. My goal is to engage the reader with hopes of inciting them to grow, sow and glow in their lives.

The name “In Others Words by Stone” resonates so much for me and it feels personal as well. I literally feel like so many women’s stories are a fit for this name. What prompted you to choose this name for your business?

I had several people coming to me for advice, suggestions and ideas- one of my tag lines to them would always be “so in other words” and we would continue the conversation. I decided that when writing speeches, books, materials for others, I would be using MY words to help them deliver desired results. That is how I birthed the business name. Stone is my maiden name that I added for additional uniqueness.

What is next for you?

Adapting to the pandemic has increased the need for virtual appearances (podcasts, radio, etc.) I will continue to share my journey and expand business opportunities. I’m also working on my fourth book. As long as there is breath in me, I will be using my platform and skills to help others to “Get off the bench and get in the game of life!”

Monique Askew: Mogul Majesty

Exclusive Society Boutique is a plus-size boutique where your shape, curves, and size are ADORED in fact, curves are a requirement! Each piece is meant to make you feel bold, confident, and sexy in your own skin. We offer a variety of hand-picked fashion-forward garments that thrive on quality.

Monique Askew is the CEO of Exclusive Society Boutique. She created the company because she wanted to focus on an industry that often gets neglected. She put her plus size beauties FIRST. Monique struggled to find garments that fit appropriately and places that actually offer a variety of trends in our size. Monique is dedicated to making the process easier for YOU.

What inspired you to move in the direction of a Plus sized Boutique?

I was inspired because I’ve always been plus size. I struggled to find trendy, nice fitting items. If I was having that issue myself, I knew other Queens were having the same issue. I was instantly intrigued by the challenge of making a difference in an industry I personally claimed as my own.

Boutiques are popping up all over the place virtually and brick and mortar. What sets your boutique apart from the rest?

Simple, Me! They don’t have me! I am so passionate about my business. It’s one thing to have a company that incorporates a few “plus size” items within their store. It’s a totally different thing, when the entire store is dedicated  to plus size. I can’t speak for all my curvy sisters but I know when I see that, my soul lights up.  Anyone that has done business with us will tell you, my customer service skills are immaculate, my garments are true to size and high quality! I strive to make sure every person feels special. Exclusive Society Boutique is an experience, and exclusive one!

Exclusive Society Boutique has a plethora of items geared to Plus Size women. How do you handle patrons who are not Plus Size but love your fashions?

I don’t have this problem often, the way we market our business we are loud and proud that we are 100% plus size. With that being said, we do have some Queens that are plus size and don’t realize it.

Let’s address how in love I am with the leopard print dress. It is H.O.T. One of the concerns I’ve heard over the years is that Plus sizes are full of flowers and patterns that are not appealing. What is your strategy to avoid those types of patterns?

I don’t! We love patterns over here! Matter of fact, we actually have a flower dress called ” It’s the Pink Flowers For Me”. The dress is HOT/Super sexy yet classy! My Queens LOVE IT. I think the design and HOW the garment compliments our curves is much more important for example: rusching in the front /side vs a zipper. It’s all about the design.

Finally, what advice would you give someone wanting to open the same type of Boutique to cater to Plus size?

I would tell them to do a lot of research first. Make sure your business is legally set up. Don’t be scared to invest in yourself by taking the leap to become an entrepreneur!  This industry needs a lot of Love, Attention, and Care! So take your time with it! It has been neglected in many ways for years so take representing this industry seriously. You will do great and remember “failure is not the opposite of success it’s part of success (author Unknown)”!

Alexa Ben-Israel ~ Victorious in Victory

“So many people have been hurt and told that there are no second chances with God, but he is always waiting for us to come to Him and start a renewed relationship with Him.”

Born in Washington DC and raised on the beautiful island of St. Croix US Virgin Islands,  Alexa Ben-Israel never envisioned becoming a part of a ministry and working for God. However, a tragic life event completely transformed Alexa’s perspective on life forever and lead her back on God’s original path.

As a survivor of domestic violence, Alexa has powered through life with incredible resilience and Faith. With her love for God and His teachings of mercy and forgiveness, Alexa forgave her abuser, offering him forgiveness for what he did. Alexa healed from her past trauma with the help of God’s living word and her husband of 11 years- a true Godsend.

Alexa endeavors to coach women to live a resilient lifestyle, with her guiding philosophy being, ‘Your life looks like what you have spoken; if you don’t like it, let’s change it.’ Alexa is a Board certified Pastoral Counselor, having completed her MA in Pastoral Counseling-Marriage and Family from Liberty University. She is the Co-Pastor of GSM Ministries (Glory Of The Son Of Man), a ministry centered and rooted in YESHUA, the MESSIAH, Who is the Son of Man. GSM Ministries is a body of believers who are both Kingdom-minded and Kingdom-driven, with their mandate being to build His Kingdom, enforce His Government, and administrate both His righteousness and justice.

Alexa has been coaching and counseling while enriching the lives of women and couples for over a decade. She specializes in counseling for Marriage, infertility and trauma. Alexa counsels specifically under GSM Ministries’ ‘I’m Fruitful’ a division which is dedicated to counseling clients battling infertility. Under this division, Alexa works passionately to reignite hope into women and encourage them throughout their journey to motherhood.

Alexa Ben-Israel has earned a distinguished reputation as a catalyst for using God’s Word to speak and watch Him work. Alexa is currently based in Atlanta, GA, where she shares her home with her husband.

Your story is an amazing one and oh so familiar to many Domestic Violence Survivors. One of the things that intrigued me the most was the ability to forgive your ex, who subjected you to a life of Domestic Violence while with him.

What did that moment of forgiveness look like when it happened?

What a tough day, but I had to do it for me to move forward.

I needed to let go of the pain I was holding onto; the physical scars were still there, but I had to do this to begin HEALING.

I met him in a public place with my sister on the phone as a backup (in my pocket) and told him I forgive him for all the things he had done to me.

I needed to do this so that God could step in and Judge him and fight on my behalf. See too many times, we hold on to grudges and assume that this is harming a person, but it only breaks us in reality.

You are also a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor. How does counseling clients under the guise of “Pastoral” differ from a “traditional” marriage/family Counselor?

This is one of the best things I could have done; I get to have God in the room. I don’t have to hide him in a box or be guided by rules I don’t agree with, whereas a traditional counselor has to follow rules that they don’t believe or agree with 100%. It’s tough when being in a box or giving someone advice against their faith.

I love your philosophy “Your life looks like what you have spoken; if you don’t like it, let’s change it.” As a Empowerment Life Coach myself, I adopted the concept “You already have what you need to succeed,” and to see that your philosophy is in line with Empowerment makes me oh so happy! With that said, when you pose the concept of clients changing their lives, how often are you challenged with resistance or ambivalence? How do you help them overcome this hurdle?

Before we begin anything, I am straight up transparent. Are you willing to do the work even when it gets tough? I don’t prefer to work with anyone that is not hungry for results; it becomes a chore instead of a new season. Remembering that we are creators by what we speak, say, and believe in our hearts. So we must get ground rules established upfront, that way, we are all on one accord to success.

As a Faith-Based Coach, is there some push back from non-believers to use your service? If so, what do you do to “bring them along” and allow them to see that you’re there to help them with their lives?

I don’t get push back, but curiosity on who God is and what can He do for me. I thought I had to be perfect, to even to have a seat at the table

Finally, what big things are in the works?

Oh my goodness, more ” Im Fruitful “podcast entries to come. I have been working behind the scenes on many ideas, but I got to run them by God first .( smiles)

Calling Dr. Dorsha STAT: Bridging the Gap

Dr. Dorsha James, M.D.  has known since childhood she wanted to be a physician. Affectionately referred to as “Dr. Dorsha”, for the past decade she has diligently worked to educate and treat people who don’t feel well. Dr. Dorsha was born in Pontiac, MI and graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1995 after relocating from Michigan in 1994.  She earned a full academic scholarship to attend The University of Memphis, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.  During her years at the University of Memphis, she was involved in numerous student organizations including being initiated into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

Dr. Dorsha took time off between her collegiate and graduate careers to work in the “real world” as a pharmacy technician and patient registration clerk in the same ER that she would work as a physician later.  She matriculated to the James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University where she was graduated Magna Cum Laude. While in medical school, she excelled in scholarship and leadership which is evidenced by her election as class president and the reception of numerous scholarships and awards.  She was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, reserved for physicians who have excelled not only in academics, but those who bring compassion and service the practice of medicine.  In 2005, she became the first African American female to match into the competitive Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Dorsha has worked as an attending physician in and around the Nashville Metropolitan area serving in the roles of the Emergency Department Assistant Medical Director and Medical Director.  This was in addition to serving on multiple committees at various levels of hospital administration.  Her career has taken her to very diverse areas including rural areas of TN and KY and busy metropolitan areas where she delivers expert and compassionate care to a multi-ethnic community with many language and socio-economic barriers.  She is quoted as saying that she is “multi-lingual” as she has had to hone her people skills and her ability to explain complex conditions in a simple, easy-to-understand manner to patients with various socio-economic, cultural and educational backgrounds.

In 2018, she co-founded myURGENCYMD, a telehealth company that offers members 24/7 virtual urgent care with a licensed physician via video chat, phone, or email as well as access to Master’s Level therapists and other time and cost-saving benefits.  She has worked diligently to educate the general population on how to use the modern concept of telemedicine thereby giving individuals the opportunity to receive the medical answers they seek in the privacy of their home.  She is co-owner of Solutions Now, Incorporated with her wife Judge Rachel Bell.

Dr. Dorsha is also devoted to giving back to her community and spends the majority of her off time serving those in need.  She has served on Executive Boards for non-profit and for-profit organizations and served as Chair of the Board of the The FIND Design for two years. She is also President of the Board of Directors for The Ring the Bell Foundation.

She holds or has held membership in multiple organizations including the American Medical Student Association, Emergency Medicine Residents Association, National Medical Association, American Medical Association, Society of Academic Emergency Medicine, American College of Emergency Physicians, American Academy of Emergency Physicians, CABLE, Women in Numbers, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and has served as team captain for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk.

She has been happily married to her wife, Judge Rachel L. Bell, since February 2017.

What was it like winning Mrs. California 2019 of the Mr. & Mrs. Black America Pageant? How has that experience enhanced your entrepreneurship? Winning Mrs. California 2019 of the MMBA Pageant was priceless. It was indeed a humbling and proud moment for myself and my family. The experience of enhancing my entrepreneurship grew and manifested itself month after month during my 2019 reign as Mrs. California. During my command, I had responsibilities to act, produce and perform. I was beyond ready and up for the challenge. As Mrs. California, I wanted to use this platform to make a difference and impact in my community. I pushed myself beyond my limits and did precisely that and more. I completed over 200 hrs of community service acts, conducted several motivational speaking events, guest appearances, and black-owned businesses in the community. And my most tremendous entrepreneurial experience was opening up my  “Free Community Clothes Closet.” I opened up my closet in less than two months, and within our first six months, we helped over 200 families, giving away 500 items of clothes and shoes. After, that experience I knew I could do whatever I put my mind to.

As a serial entrepreneur, how do you balance family and work life? I use my Concentric Circle of Success. It all starts with my “Mindset.” I have a Mindset that succeeding is the only option. My Concentric Circle encompasses three elements: What? Why? And How? Once I establish those, I prioritize my “Why?” and plan accordingly. Secondly, I ask for help when needed. I have found that asking for help is extremely important when you are formulating your “How.” Lastly, I put family and my peace of mind first. I suggest that everyone sets what I like to call “non-negotiable hours.” You have to block off time for your family and yourself. Self-love is not being “Selfish.”

Tell us more about your role as a Health and Wellness Fitness Coach. What are the challenges? What’s your biggest success story? Being a Health and Wellness Fitness Coach is magical. Having the opportunity to help individuals accomplish things that they cry about every night and pray for beyond rewarding and a blessing. The challenges are real and sometimes heartbreaking, But it’s not about me. I am here for my clients. The most common challenge is helping my clients overcome their self-doubt, helping them believe that they can do it and be successful—the physiological component. I am proud to say I over the years, with my training and extensive education, I have been able to help my clients breakthrough and overcome that internal obstacle. My biggest success story was assisting a client of mines in losing 65 lbs, lowering her blood pressure, avoiding knee surgery, and she would say, “give her life and a start to a new beginning.”
