How did your career begin?
My career began in early childhood education, but my creative side was always there. I always made gift baskets and scrapbooks which I gave as gifts.
One time I made a gift basket for my sister. She asked me if I had thought of marketing them. At that moment I realized I wanted to pursue that path. I started to take courses and practiced what I had learned until I was ready and confident to start putting my work out there.
The rest is history.
How are you preparing for the holidays?
I have been gearing up for the holidays since the summer. I have been designing new gifts as well as reaching out to previous clients and doing presentations to attract new clients to show what The New York Gifting Company can do for them.
It is not too early to start thinking about your holiday gifting needs. I already have some orders for the holiday season.
Tell us about your luxury gift boxes.
Luxury is all about the products that you use as well as the presentation. It is so important how the items are arranged, and they all fit together in color and that they fit the theme.
The embellishments such as ribbons, logo and designs can make a gift look luxurious.

Most gifts can be customized for sure.

What will people notice when working with you Elaine?
When people work with me, they will notice that I care and listen to what they want and need. I will not send anything out that is not exactly what the customer ordered. It also has to pass my final inspection before it is delivered or shipped.
Any recommendations for BFF’s?
If I were to send any gifts to my BFF from my website, they would have to be The Grande Italian or The Luxurious Chef.
