My inspiration comes from the things I have been able to heal and break through from. My inspiration also comes from living, breathing examples of the gospel in demonstration. People who I watch who have mastered the art of overcoming!

Patrice: For those who do not know you, tell us a little bit more about yourself?

Pamela: I am a Wife, Mother of 3 boys, Glam Ma, and an Authorpreneur. In the Author Space, I write and self-publish my books, which are used to evangelize and minister to readers, help them heal and live a purpose driven life. I coach other aspiring, faith-based authors on how to do the same.

Patrice: What makes a pretty woman that hustles?

Pamela: Her spirit. Her tenacity. Her courage. The fact that she is not truly hustling as the word defines hustle, but she is in divine flow and living her life purposefully. A healed, whole woman is a pretty woman who hustles.

Patrice: How did you get your big start in business?

Pamela: I’ve been writing for as long as I could hold a pen. From journaling to re-wording and rewriting my friends love letters to their boyfriends, it’s something I have always done. About 16 years ago I gave God my “real” yes and decided to use writing as a ministry tool so I started self-publishing my writing and then other aspiring authors started asking if I could help them self-publish their books and from there the business was birthed.

Patrice: You are a woman that wears many hats in entrepreneurship such as being an evangelist, author, inspirational speaker and more! Where does your inspiration come from?

Pamela: My inspiration comes from the things I have been able to heal and break through from. My inspiration also comes from living, breathing examples of the gospel in demonstration. People who I watch who have mastered the art of overcoming!

Patrice: I want to talk about your love to help others in the literary world. How long have you been a literary agent to new and upcoming authors?

Pamela: I’ve been helping others self-publish for the last 5 years.

Patrice: Speaking of authors, you are one yourself! How many books have you published?

Pamela: I have published 9 books.

Patrice: Out of all the books you wrote, which one seems to be the reader’s favorite?

Pamela: I think there’s a split between my very first one-E3: Encouraged, Equipped, Empowered and my last one, While at the Altar.

Patrice: What does being an entrepreneur mean to you?

Pamela: To me it means I have the liberty to enter an industry and set my own rules. Yes, I think it’s important to be knowledgeable in what is trending, but one can also be innovative and disrupt the industry. You can’t do that when you are working for someone else. Their rules and processes are their rules and processes.

Patrice: Tell us more about your business and what it intel.

Pamela: As an Authorpreneur, I am a Christian Author, Speaker, and Coach so I write, publish, and sell books. I speak at Churches, Women Conferences and Empowerment Events. I also coach and serve as a Self-Publishing Consultant to aspiring authors to help them through the writing process and with self-publishing and launching their books

Patrice: Are you currently working on any new projects?

Pamela: I am working on 3 client projects and from there I have some more that have already signed on. I’m booked with client projects until September. Glory be to God

Patrice: Do you plan on writing any more books soon?

Pamela: Yes. With every book I say it’s my last one because I want to focus 100% on clients, but God continues to download to me and I am always drawn back to writing another book. I have accepted that I have a writing ministry so I will never be able to get out of literary evangelism, whether that be through publishing books or blogs, God will continue to give me a message to share through a book.

5 WRITING TIPS FOR THE SOUL! GET IT WRITE WITH THAT RIVERZ GURL BRAND!

Writing has always been fun and fundamental for me ever since I was nine years old. At that age most little girls and boys weren’t thinking too much about writing nor painting. But when God has blessed you with a significant gift to write, you best believe your gift should never be wasted! I’m glad that I was given the gift to write because God was looking out for me on what my purpose is. To be honest, I struggled for years trying to figure out what type of writing should I pursue. Of course I’m an author of nine books, but is that just a hobby for me? A passion? Or a career? When I started my children’s book series called “Come Learn with Patricia,” my goal was to educated people on Sickle Cell Disease and who it affects. I’m only passionate now completing my book series because it’s educational. But I look back at all the book ideas I have stored in my head and nothing comes out on paper. I have a bunch of short stories I can write, but my focus right now is writing for magazines and interviewing people. So now that I have talked briefly about my writing career, I want to share with you some writing tips to get your soul going! You don’t have to be a professional writer to know these tips either.

  • Write from a place of familiarity. A lot of times, writing from a place that makes sense and that they are used to seeing in the environment. For authors, similar scenery may trigger a story..or two.
  • Traveling sparks writing fever! If you love traveling, you should write/blog about it! I remember living in Hawaii for five years when my dad was in the Air Force and the scenery was so beautiful! Back in high school, I journaled a lot and that’s when I got my start in writing poetry when I was 15. If you travel, write about the scenery or it can turn into a book! You never know!
  • Writing is therapeutic! I can honestly say that writing is good for the soul! It’s relaxing and relieves a lot of stress. For example, if you have been through a lot of major challenges in the last couple of months, writing how you feel can help with processing thoughts and frustrations. Make time to write for at least 15 minutes a day if possible. It can make a difference!
  • Practice writing on themes. Let’s say a theme of an event or week is ‘Forever Young’ See how many sentences or paragraphs you come up with for writing on a specific theme.
  • Take a writing course. We can always improve your writing by taking extra courses. Even though I graduated back in 2009 from college, I still plan to take writing courses to learn more about a particular type of writing I’m interested in. Go ahead and take a course and see how it helps your writing in the long-run.

Here is HERstory:

I have been singing ever since I was a baby. Before I could talk, I would make melodies I picked up from maybe my mom or something I heard in the car. When I started talking and forming words, I finally grew the voice I wanted, and started singing. Music has always been in me and it became my passion. It is hard to explain it! I felt the energy of music and I knew it was the path I would choose to seek. As I got older, I started posting singing videos on YouTube and my mom posted videos on Facebook. From there I just became comfortable with music and honed my talent.

Ramsey Renèe is a singer, songwriter, musician, and producer.

What does women empowerment mean to you?

What women empowerment means to me is to be independent and to uplift other women. To bring courage and audacity to strengthen the position of women in the music industry and society.

What advice or words of inspiration would you like to share with someone?

My advice I would like to share with someone is to give your all in anything you do and in anyone. You always want to give your all because then you will feel like you did your best and feel confident because you gave all that you could.

What do you want your legacy to be?

I just want my legacy to be someone who was real and saved people with her music. To make people feel heard, understood, and connected through the many voices that crowd the world. I want to be the person who saved people with her voice.

What inspires you?

What inspires me is my loved ones. They inspire me to write music, to sing, but also to wake up every day striving to be a better person.

What kind of impact do you want to have on those around you?

I want to be encouraging. I want the people around me to know that I believe in them as much as they believe in me. I want them to know they can do anything the put their mind to, no matter how big, small and/or different it may be. You can do it…you should do it!

What does self care mean to you?

Self-care to me is to shut yourself out from everyone. Not to where you are feeling isolated, it means to shut everything off and pause and take a minute to find yourself, look at yourself, and take care of you physically emotionally and mentally. Self-care is not all about bubble baths and face masks, but it is a part of it. We practice self-care everyday by eating, getting proper rest, blocking unwanted negative energy. It is to be with you and only you.

What obstacles have you overcome or hurdles did you personally face and how did you overcome them?

Mental health has been a huge battle I have fought, and I am still fighting. Learning to shut out that voice with terrible thoughts. I battle every day to do daily tasks that are difficult when you feel mentally drain and unmotivated. It is even harder with trying to have a career at such a young age. It is a pain, but I fight through it and I am winning this battle.

When did you realize entrepreneurship was right for you?

I still do not know if entrepreneurship is for me. I am still navigating keeping options open but all I do know that music is what I want, and I will be continuing with doing that. I would like to own my own label one day.

Why did you choose entrepreneurship?

I chose entrepreneurship because It is what I love, and I wanted to inspire other people to do it too. Its stressful at times and you must go through the rain before you get that rainbow filled with success. it is so beautiful in the end and I just want people to know its worth it.

What would you say is your most driving motivation to keep doing what you to do?

I would say the fact that music is what makes me happy is what drives me to continue to move forward on this career path. I want to be happy and I want to do things that make me happy and music is one of them.

What are you most excited or passionate about? (In both business and life or both)

I am excited about what is in store for me with music, with life, and with the future.

What are the goals you most want to accomplish in your business and personally?

I want to accomplish having my own label, collaborating with more artists, and growing my platform. Personally, I want to become more confident in myself and what I say and to not have to second guess everything, to trust myself.

Did you have any key mentors or people who deeply influenced who you are, what you believe in and what you’re committed to in your work and life? Tell me about them.

My mom has been a huge part of my journey. She has learned so much, created many opportunities, as well as sacrificed time and money. Investing into my business and career with all the challenges, she has never once given up on me or did not believe in me. She has always been my number one supporter and I appreciate her for that.

Did you have any life-changing experiences that put you on the path that led you to be doing what you’re doing today? Tell me about them.

I have not had any life changing experiences that put me on this path. I really just woke up one day and said this is what I love and want to do, and I moved forward with it and never looked back.

What’s next for you in your business/brand? What can readers look forward to from you?

I have a new project that will be released in the upcoming months as well as music videos.

Is there anything else you would like to share with me?

Yes, I want to highlight my dad who is my voice of reason in my life. He is one of the reasons why I have such a level head and a great mindset. I just want him to know that I love an appreciate him for all he does.

Women’s History Month Feature – Erica Latrice

For Women’s History Month I will be sharing the stories that define and provide examples of women empowerment, uplifting stories of personal triumph and businesses that are inspiring and are making a difference for women. Women’s History Month is a declared month each year that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society.

I want to introduce you to Erica Latrice, Speaker, Published Author, and Media Expert.

Erica Latrice is on a mission to help you understand your purpose and live the life that God has created you to live! She has been featured in The Huffington Post, Prevention, Woman’s Day and many other media outlets empowering others to stop playing small and start living their dreams! She is a Speaker, Published Author and has served as a media expert on platforms alongside some of the top producers in television, radio and print media worldwide. This is more than a career; Erica’s tenacity, spiritual walk and commitment to your success are the driving force behind her company Be Inspired! Inc. and her work as a Speaker, Founder & Mentor with the AmplifyHER Movement. Her tv show has aired in more than 17 million U.S. Households and growing worldwide. Her Passion is truly helping others to realize their potential and live a purpose-filled life!

Here is HERstory:

I’m passionate about helping as many women as possible step out and share their story in as many places as possible. This story was birthed out of my own desire to step out and share my story. Years ago, I heard about the story of young women who were running out of food and unable to provide for their children. It really broke my heart. I felt that we as a community should be able to do something about this. I decided to do my first women’s event at that time and the community came together and we were able to help those young women. That sparked the fire for me to keep going and launch AmplifyHER which was Be Inspired! at that time.

What is the name of your business? What type of business is it?

Be Inspired!. It’s a business that helps women to expand their reach, increase their voice to stand on their story through speaking media and messaging.

What does women empowerment mean to you?

It means coming from a place to collaborating and not competing. It means giving valuable steps and actions to others that will help make their lives better all while also being a recipient of those things as well.

What advice or words of inspiration would you like to share with someone?

No one can tell your story better than you. No one can qualify you for what God has already said is yours. Don’t wait for someone else’s permission to step out everyday that your waiting is a day that your trading your life for something that doesn’t matter to you.

What do you want your legacy to be?

Anyone that knew me or knows me personally that they feel equally as valued as anyone else in a public arena. I don’t want to be a public success and private failure. I want my children, friends and my family to be blessed and benefit from all the gifts God has given me just as much as anyone else. I want to be a safe place and blessing for other people as well so they can do the same with their family, love ones, message, voice and purpose.

What inspires you?

My mom, the lessons she left for me inspires me above all else. It’s just a reminder that what we do with each day is what we do with our life. If that doesn’t light us up then it’s not worth it.

What kind of impact do you want to have on those around you?

Ignite the fire in women that they are able to let their light shine. One of my favorite verses currently is, “Let your light so shine before men that they will see your good works and glorify your father in heaven” I hope to impact people in a way that draws them closer to God and understand that He is no respecter of persons so what He can do for one of us He can do for all of us to maximize the very gifts and uniqueness He has given each of us.

She has authored the following books: Finish, The Focus Fast, 100 Ways to Conquer College, Jumpstart Your Dream

What does self care mean to you?

The airplane principle. You cannot help anyone if you haven’t taken in your oxygen recovery recharge. Being intentional and unapologetic about times of unplugging, downtime and recharging.

What obstacles have you overcome or hurdles did you personally face and how did you overcome them?

I’ve definitely been told and labeled that I would not be able to do the very things I’m doing right now. The way I’ve overcome them is by silencing the noise around me and understanding that what someone else thinks about me is none of my business.

When did you realize entrepreneurship was right for you?

When I was 15 and on the dance team we would have these progressive dinners. One of which was hosted at a friends house that all 50 of us fit inside comfortably. I asked her parents what they did for a living and they responded with, “We work from home” and it was then that I said so will I. I will work from home. That is when I really felt determined to be an entrepreneur and from there all the chips fell into place. I’m sure I was selling stuff when I was in elementary school.

Why did you choose entrepreneurship?

Because I love the freedom to create opportunities for others as well as the opportunity to choose how I spend my day. Though it takes equally or more work than when I was an employee it’s worth it to me.

What would you say is your most driving motivation to keep doing what you to do?

Matthew 6:33 is my verse for this but also to be a blessing to other people while not wasting my time on this earth. My prayer is that anyone I interact with that I am adding value to their life and that I choose to be around those who can add value to mine as well.

What are you most excited or passionate about? (In both business and life or both)

I am so excited about helping women to find their voice and stand on their story and to get clarity around how they should spend their day and step out in their gifts. In business and life it’s equal. I am passionate about being an example to my children that no matter the direction they feel called to by God that they are to accomplish it as they step out and do it.

What are the goals you most want to accomplish in your business and personally?

To continue to say that 20+ years from now I’m still doing that lights me up.

Did you have any key mentors or people who deeply influenced who you are, what you believe in and what you’re committed to in your work and life? Tell me about them.

My mother, she overcame so much adversity. She was one of the top influencers for my drive in entrepreneurship because I was able to see her create businesses without having key influences in front of her. There was no such thing as a period after a NO, it was always how do I get to the yes for her and that taught me a great deal.

Did you have any life-changing experiences that put you on the path that led you to be doing what you’re doing today? Tell me about them.

Absolutely, many life changing experiences of self-doubt, doors closing, losing jobs and each time along the way was a lesson and feedback that I can now implement to help others.

What’s next for you in your business/brand? What can readers look forward to from you?

The readers can look forward to our Born to Soar Conference. The first one of this year will be April 23-25 2021 with more to come.
