Her new single “Commitment Issues” is now available on all digital streaming platforms!

Here is HERstory:

I have been singing ever since I was a baby. Before I could talk, I would make melodies I picked up from maybe my mom or something I heard in the car. When I started talking and forming words, I finally grew the voice I wanted, and started singing. Music has always been in me and it became my passion. It is hard to explain it! I felt the energy of music and I knew it was the path I would choose to seek. As I got older, I started posting singing videos on YouTube and my mom posted videos on Facebook. From there I just became comfortable with music and honed my talent.

Ramsey Renèe is a singer, songwriter, musician, and producer.

What does women empowerment mean to you?

What women empowerment means to me is to be independent and to uplift other women. To bring courage and audacity to strengthen the position of women in the music industry and society.

What advice or words of inspiration would you like to share with someone?

My advice I would like to share with someone is to give your all in anything you do and in anyone. You always want to give your all because then you will feel like you did your best and feel confident because you gave all that you could.

What do you want your legacy to be?

I just want my legacy to be someone who was real and saved people with her music. To make people feel heard, understood, and connected through the many voices that crowd the world. I want to be the person who saved people with her voice.

What inspires you?

What inspires me is my loved ones. They inspire me to write music, to sing, but also to wake up every day striving to be a better person.

What kind of impact do you want to have on those around you?

I want to be encouraging. I want the people around me to know that I believe in them as much as they believe in me. I want them to know they can do anything the put their mind to, no matter how big, small and/or different it may be. You can do it…you should do it!

What does self care mean to you?

Self-care to me is to shut yourself out from everyone. Not to where you are feeling isolated, it means to shut everything off and pause and take a minute to find yourself, look at yourself, and take care of you physically emotionally and mentally. Self-care is not all about bubble baths and face masks, but it is a part of it. We practice self-care everyday by eating, getting proper rest, blocking unwanted negative energy. It is to be with you and only you.

What obstacles have you overcome or hurdles did you personally face and how did you overcome them?

Mental health has been a huge battle I have fought, and I am still fighting. Learning to shut out that voice with terrible thoughts. I battle every day to do daily tasks that are difficult when you feel mentally drain and unmotivated. It is even harder with trying to have a career at such a young age. It is a pain, but I fight through it and I am winning this battle.

When did you realize entrepreneurship was right for you?

I still do not know if entrepreneurship is for me. I am still navigating keeping options open but all I do know that music is what I want, and I will be continuing with doing that. I would like to own my own label one day.

Why did you choose entrepreneurship?

I chose entrepreneurship because It is what I love, and I wanted to inspire other people to do it too. Its stressful at times and you must go through the rain before you get that rainbow filled with success. it is so beautiful in the end and I just want people to know its worth it.

What would you say is your most driving motivation to keep doing what you to do?

I would say the fact that music is what makes me happy is what drives me to continue to move forward on this career path. I want to be happy and I want to do things that make me happy and music is one of them.

What are you most excited or passionate about? (In both business and life or both)

I am excited about what is in store for me with music, with life, and with the future.

What are the goals you most want to accomplish in your business and personally?

I want to accomplish having my own label, collaborating with more artists, and growing my platform. Personally, I want to become more confident in myself and what I say and to not have to second guess everything, to trust myself.

Did you have any key mentors or people who deeply influenced who you are, what you believe in and what you’re committed to in your work and life? Tell me about them.

My mom has been a huge part of my journey. She has learned so much, created many opportunities, as well as sacrificed time and money. Investing into my business and career with all the challenges, she has never once given up on me or did not believe in me. She has always been my number one supporter and I appreciate her for that.

Did you have any life-changing experiences that put you on the path that led you to be doing what you’re doing today? Tell me about them.

I have not had any life changing experiences that put me on this path. I really just woke up one day and said this is what I love and want to do, and I moved forward with it and never looked back.

What’s next for you in your business/brand? What can readers look forward to from you?

I have a new project that will be released in the upcoming months as well as music videos.

Is there anything else you would like to share with me?

Yes, I want to highlight my dad who is my voice of reason in my life. He is one of the reasons why I have such a level head and a great mindset. I just want him to know that I love an appreciate him for all he does.
