A Story of Hope: Meet Dr. Letitia Wright

For the Month of April we are sharing stories of hope and inspiration for National Month of Hope. Sometimes hope is the deciding factor on if we will continue our journey or stop right in our tracks. As we share the stories of these amazing individuals we hope that you are filled with hope and are inspired to keep on your path of greatness.

Dr. Letitia Wright shares with us her story:

Dr. Letitia Wright is a Former Physician turned Media Professional and Host of the Nationally Syndicated Television Show: Wright Place Television. Now in its 18th season, with a bandwidth of over 60 million homes weekly. In addition to her Media Work, Dr. Wright is a Top 100 Crowdfunding Expert in the Nation, focusing on getting capital into the hands of women and minority-owned businesses.

What Inspired your start in entrepreneurship?

I don’t think I was inspired as much as I just always wanted to do things in my own way with my own vision. I never aspired to have a job. Actually, I always saw them as an opportunity for temporary cash flow until what I really, deeply wanted to do was working well. But there was never a lightning-bolt moment where inspiration set in.

What obstacles have you had to overcome to get where you are today?

Many! I come from a family that is supportive but feels that a good, stable job is the best route to go in life, even if not the most fulfilling. In the beginning, I really struggled with those mixed messages, but now, I’ve learned how to get over them. Today, I’ve overcome other people’s biases and assumptions about me and the life I’ve chosen. I’ve decided to be okay with who I wanted to be, and how I wanted to live my life!

What message of hope do you have for upcoming entrepreneurs?

While it may not be easy, it certainly will be worth it.

What are your top 3 go to songs for motivation to keep going after your goals?

I’m a music lover, so they change often, but right now, I am listening to:

BE EASY by Kwaye
Inner Breakfast by Toni Jones
Pretty Girl Magic by Moonlight Scorpio

What is your definition of a pretty woman who hustles?

My definition is a woman who loves herself, even her so-called “shadow side” and keeps moving toward her goals no matter what distractions befall her. When I wake up every day, that’s who I try to be.
