Who is Saneit, if you could describe yourself in one sentence what would it be?
I am the RNB Sensation.
You are a native of Chicago, how did your surroundings impact who you are today?
Chicago has a huge impact on who I am. I grew up in the North Lawndale community on the west side of Chicago in a single parent household. Although my neighborhood had a high crime rate I learned to navigate the city and find the beauty in it. That’s how I navigate life. You can find the beauty in anything. I feel like that’s why I’m so good at adapting.
Who and what would you credit your love of music to?
I would credit my mom when it comes to my love for music. She had so many albums. I learned Gospel music, R&B, and soul from listening to music that she played in the house.
If you could use five words to describe your unique sound, who would it be and why?
Five words to describe my music would be soulful, authentic, genuine, heartfelt, and energetic. My music is true to my experience and most of these words describe me so I can be identified in my sound.
Who are your musical influences?
Whitney Houston, Monica, Missy Elliot, Lauryn Hill, Mary J Blige, Mariah Carey, and so many more.
Not only are you an exceptional music artist, you are also a gifted hair stylist specializing in braids. Can you share a little about that part of your life?
I enjoy doing braids. I started my business in college and over time I became an entrepreneur. Now I’m a full time entrepreneur. Braiding hair has opened so many doors for me.
What is next for you?
You can expect a new EP from me soon so stay tuned!
What message do you hope women take away from your platform?
I hope when women join my platform by following me or listening to my music that they believe in themselves more than anything. I want them to believe that all of their goals are achievable. Do not limit yourself and don’t let anyone dim your light.
What is your definition of a Pretty Woman Who Hustles?
My definition of a Pretty Woman Who Hustles is a woman who makes no complaints. She gets up and go get it. She’s a woman who chooses herself and does so without permission.
