Urban One Honors To Celebrate Women Leading The Change

Following the height of Women’s History Month in March, Urban One is continuing the empowerment with its upcoming May commemoration.  Hosted by Roland Martin and Erica Campbell, the 2021 season of Urban One Honors will celebrate black excellence and women.  The annual show will air on May 16, 2021 at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT on TV One and Cleo TV.  Female trailblazers in the following categories will be honored:

  • Voting Rights Champion
  • Investigative Journalism Crusader
  • Health Equality Advocate
  • Business Alchemist
  • Family Needs Ambassador
  • Reparations Trailblazer; and much more!

This tribute show will serve as an ongoing highlight to the many contributions of women in business, politics, entertainment, media and health as they impact our community. “I am thrilled to co-host this year’s URBAN ONE HONORS with Roland Martin,” said Erica Campbell. “I love anything that celebrates and exemplifies Black excellence, and I am grateful to Cathy Hughes and Radio One for continuing to honor our peers for doing the work that uplifts and inspires our community,” she continues. 

This epic night of honors will also include live music entertainment, never before seen collaborations and also surprise appearances.  This night of excellence is executive produced by Eric Tomosunas, Robert Boyd of Swirl Films and Jazz Smollett. Susan Henry serves as Executive Producer for TV One. Kashon Powell, Vice President of Programming for Radio One, and Donyell Kennedy-McCullough is Senior Director of Talent and Casting. Robyn Greene Arrington is Vice President of Original Programming and Production.  Tune in on May 16, 2021 for this extraordinary evening of commemoration.
