Markevia Mincey, born in Greenville, MS and raised in Wichita, KS, is a loving mother of 3 amazing kids; Jermani, Journi, and Jeremiah; wife to retired NFL star Jeremy Mincey, entrepreneur, and author. Markevia graduated from Tennessee State with a Bachelor’s in Health Science concentration in Therapeutic Studies and Masters in Occupational Therapy. 

In 2018, Markevia and Jeremy created Kumfee Kush, a streetwear clothing line for the family. In the spring of 2020, the family moved from Jacksonville, FL to Atlanta, GA where they currently reside.  The move wasn’t easy for her children, especially Jermani, who wasn’t quite ready for change.  Markevia decided to write a book to help her adapt to the change. 

For years, Markevia had dreams of writing a children’s book, and that dream has come into fruition with the release of her first book, Mincey Kidz Adventures: Mom’s Big News. Mincey Kidz Adventures: Mom’s Big News is the first book from the Mincey Kidz Adventures Series that is guaranteed to be a great read for the entire family to enjoy.  

Who is Markevia Mincey outside of entrepreneurship and motherhood?

Markevia is a driven, fun, and outgoing person! I love to enjoy life. I’ve learned to live in the moment!  

Tell us about your brand Kumfee Kush?

 Kumfee Kush™️ clothing is a brand my husband and I created! It represents family and friends inspired by music. Music has a way of altering people’s emotions and helping you remember moments in life! 

What made you want to start your own clothing line? 

We created our clothing brand to leave a legacy and we wanted our children to be included with what we created.  

Tell us about your Book Series “The Mincey Kidz Adventures”? 

The Mincey Kidz Adventures is based on real events our children have experienced. We explore their feelings like when we relocated to another city, starting a new school and the appreciation of the relationship they share with their dad.  

What message do you hope kids take away from your books? 

Since our books are based on real events our goal is to inform other children that they are not the only one that has experienced their situations and that things do get better with time.  

If you could use three words to describe your platform, what would it be and why?

 Family, inspiring, and happiness. I believe these 3 words represent my social media because that’s what it reflects of my life! I prayed for what I have now!  

 How did you personally prepare for the success your company has achieved?

 I’m still preparing lol! We are just taking things step by step and day by day. We are continuing to grow all of our businesses as a family.  

Do you have any tips for upcoming entrepreneurs looking to join the clothing industry?

 My advice is don’t give up! It will definitely get challenging but keep going!  

What is next for you in entrepreneurship? 

I am continuing to grow Kumfee Kush™️ clothing, expanding the Mincey Kidz Adventures series, and supporting my husband and children with everything they are working on.

A woman that pursues her dreams/goals and looks fabulous while completing them!
