We had the pleasure of sitting down with Ramona to discuss entrepreneurship, women empowerment and attaining financial stability:

Ramona, you have nearly a decade of entrepreneurial experience in business strategy and team development. Can you share some pivotal moments or experiences that have shaped your journey and led you to become a business coach?

When I realized there is a way to turn one-off sales into predictable, recurring revenue, it changed everything. Revenue even jumped up by 60% one year, and there has been 30% growth each year since then. This revenue-generating hack has given me such peace of mind because I know where money is coming from, how much, and when. It also allowed me to focus more on strategizing growth for the company and plan out increases in employee benefits. Helping our employees become a cohesive team that communicates well and promotes the goals of the company is the other business transformation that boosted our growth. Once I got that down, our team was happy, and our customers became happier too. We started getting new customers from word of mouth, so revenue went up again. A happy team is directly linked to revenue growth. These are two areas I want to help entrepreneurs in. There is so much to do each day that every business owner is always thinking about. Wondering where the money to pay the business expenses and how many hours of work it will take to generate more money doesn’t have to be a point of anxiety that takes up all their mental space and time. I want to help entrepreneurs simplify things so that they can have peace about generating revenue and have the time to do more of what they love in the everyday life of a business owner.

Your primary focus is empowering female entrepreneurs. What inspired you to specialize in coaching women in business?
I am inspired to coach women in business because, well, I am a woman. I know what it’s like to be a woman in business, I know the way a woman thinks, and I know how a woman can use her natural tendencies for the betterment of their company. I think I would have gotten to where I am today faster if I had a female business coach come alongside me. It would have helped me see how I can use my natural ways, as a woman, to my advantage and to the advantage of the company, rather than try to morph into the stereotypical “right businesswoman”. I want to see other women succeed in the business world.

Achieving consistent revenue and financial freedom is a goal many entrepreneurs aspire to. Can you provide some key strategies or insights you offer to your clients to help them attain this level of financial stability?
My clients and I go through several strategies to get to consistent revenue. Some of those strategies include diversification and a customer-centric approach, focusing on long-term value.

I have seen a lot of entrepreneurs go down the road of diversification and lose focus. They stop focusing on what the purpose of their business is and start diversifying in other areas to increase revenue any way they can. What I have found with the entrepreneurs who chose that path is the revenue growth is very short-lived and not nearly big enough to level out the hours put in and vendor association costs that are sometimes part of the figure.

With my clients, we focus on staying true to who they are and what their business’s purpose is. We diversify, use customer-centric tactics, and emphasize long-term benefits as a 3-prong approach to get current one-off customers and prospective customers on board as recurring customers. This 3-prong approach prevents burnout and promotes the focus of why the business was created in the first place.

Managing a business can be complex, whether it involves customer interactions or leading a team. Could you elaborate on the specific techniques or methodologies you use to help your clients develop a sense of ease and confidence in these areas?
As I said before, a happy team is directly linked to revenue growth. This is true for any business.

To lead a happy, productive team, there are 10 areas that every business owner should give attention to. These 10 areas do not have to be very time-consuming because each one leads into the other, but they will take more effort in the beginning while they are becoming part of the business culture.

I will talk about 3 of those areas here. Communication skills, continuous learning, and mindfulness. These three areas really solidify an employee’s identity within the company and lead the way for the other 7 areas to take hold.

Female entrepreneurship is on the rise. What trends or shifts have you observed in the entrepreneurial world, particularly in relation to women-owned businesses, and how do these trends impact your coaching approach?
I have noticed a rise in the entrepreneurial world recognizing the importance of work-life balance and building leadership confidence. I am delighted to see these trends because those are two areas I love to work on with my clients!

I absolutely believe that anyone can have a family and own a business without compromising their mental health and relationships. In fact, taking care of personal responsibilities allows an entrepreneur to come to work happier and with more focus for work.

I previously mentioned the stereotypical “right businesswoman”. Within this stereotype, it has been believed that there is one right way to lead people, and everyone just needs to toughen up and fit the mold. Well, the business world has begun recognizing more and more ways to become an effective leader and how different personality traits specific to a woman or a man can be used to the benefit of that person and the team they lead. This is giving a lot more people confidence rather than stress to conform and has highlighted the benefits of each person’s unique perspective.

As a business coach, what are the common challenges that your female entrepreneur clients often face, and how do you help them overcome these challenges?
Some common challenges my clients often face are the know-how to scale their business, the freedom to strategize and work on tasks within their business they have a natural love for, the confidence to change their company culture, and the perspective to talk to their clients in a way that makes them feel understood.

By acknowledging and addressing these challenges through a customized game plan for each client’s experience with me as their coach, we work on the skills, knowledge, and support needed to overcome obstacles and reach their goals.

Networking and mentorship often play a vital role in an entrepreneur’s success. How do you encourage your clients to build valuable connections and seek mentorship to advance their businesses?
I encourage my clients to build an online presence and nurture relationships with clients and vendors. An online presence builds the trust the community will have towards your business and builds the entrepreneur’s confidence too. Nurturing relationships with clients and vendors is the best way to get feedback on you, your team, and your company as a whole. This approach also helps you identify the areas where your clients wish to see growth and pinpoint any areas you’re developing that might not align with the customer’s viewpoint. Nurturing relationships makes asking for the sale, a business review, and a client referral more successful.
