What inspired the start of “Destination Destiny”?

The inspiration for Destination Destiny came after giving birth to my first child in 2014. As a new mom and a newlywed living in a new city, I struggled with finding fashionable and modest clothing pieces that fit my new body. I was also at a point in my life where I was trying to understand how to work on my purpose while juggling all the new things in life. I decided to channel my challenges and become a curator of a solution for other women in my shoes. After many years of planning, we officially launched in 2023.

What has been the biggest challenge of running a brand like “Destination Destiny”?

Our biggest challenge had been finding the right stakeholders for fabric sourcing and production that understand and align with our standards of quality. The good news is that we resolved these issues last year and are excited about what is ahead.

How does “Destination Destiny” impact its local community?

As we grow, one of our goals is to use a percentage of our revenue to provide              scholarships and grants for young girls and women who will empower them to chase their dreams and live a life of impact.

How can women in particular benefit from what your brand has to offer?

Any woman who purchases our pieces doesn’t just add another piece to their wardrobe.        She invests in herself and her future. She is adorned with the right outfit to live fulfilled and leave her mark on the world. We take the stress of worrying about what to wear while our clients focus on being great.

Where do you hope to see your brand in the next 3-5 years?
In the next 3 to 5 years, I see my brand owning a factory where we are able to ensure excellent standards from idea to production. Also, the space will serve as a facility where we can train, employ, and equip people who are passionate about fashion.

What advice do you have for the next generation of entrepreneurs?

My advice would be just start! Do it afraid, do it confused, but just make sure you’re sure that your  dream does not die in your mind. Your dreams are valid; they are solutions to the problems of others.

What does being “Pretty and Black Owned” mean to you?
For me, “Pretty and Black Owned” means living from the inside out, where true beauty emanates from. It means being bold enough to live your dreams out loud.
