Music lost an icon on February 9, 2021 with the passing of Mary Wilson a founding member of The Supremes. The Supremes were one of the most memorable girl groups with Diana Ross and Florence Ballard and the most successful Motown act of the 1960s, the best-charting female group in U.S. chart history, and one of the all-time best-selling girl groups in the world.

I had the opportunity to talk to Marshall Thompson the last surviving member of The Chi-lites about his work with Mary Wilson. He shared with me how hard Mary Wilson fought to get the Performance Rights Act passed so that artists would be paid for their musical works. He also went on to share memories of the day he celebrated with her receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with Smokey Robinson.
