Celebrating Trivia Day 2022

Celebrated on January 4 every year – National Trivia Day gives trivia fans a chance to flex their knowledge and trivia prowess.

Here are 3 trivia options to add to your game night. So gather your friends and family and get to playing!

Culture Tags

In an effort to help fill the void, Eunique Jones Gibson is filling a void in the gaming industry so she created “#CultureTags,” a card game that uses hashtags and acronyms to test whether individuals are knowledgeable about the culture. Her main goal was to create something fun and recession-proof that is unlike any other trivia game played.

#CultureTags has been described as a game of TABOO but with acronyms. It’s a spirited guessing game delivering hours of unpredictable fun as you and your friends prove how well you know hashtags and the culture.

Players and teams compete to successfully describe (w/o cheating) and decode the most #CultureTags (acronyms) before time runs out.

Each box comes with 350 cards divided across seven categories — Daily Sayings, Family & Friends, Church, Black Twitter, Words to Live By, TV & Film, and Songs & Lyrics. There are also 5 DIY cards that are perfect for making up your own #CultureTags.

It was made with you in mind and has been said to cause uncontrollable laughter, flashbacks, singing, and more.

And playing is simple. Grab a card, show your team the #CultureTag (acronym) and give hints (the answer to each card is on the back) to help them guess the phrase without saying what it is. Can’t figure it out? Pass! Just get through as many answers as possible before your time runs out!

Dae Fenwick is the owner and creator of the new music card game Kulture Karaoke. As a Detroit native, 80’s baby, HBCU grad (Clark Atlanta University and Texas Southern University), black woman Attorney, and member of a black sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Dae believes in making products for us, by us.

It all started on her birthday in 2020. Dae invited friends and family to celebrate her big day at a local karaoke lounge in Atlanta. To make things more interesting, she decided to have everyone pull a card and select a song to sing based on the categories like “a song that reminds you of middle school.” Her friends and family loved it, and the idea for Kulture Karaoke was born.

Dae hopes you will enjoy Kulture Karaoke at your next game night, karaoke night, birthday party, road trip, Friendsgiving, pre-game or holiday gathering. Remember, grab a mic, grab your friends, and do it for the “Kulture!”

This is not your typical karaoke. Kulture Karaoke will take your next game night or karaoke night to the next level!

With song categories like “Pick a song by a 90’s R&B girl group” or “Biggie vs. Pac,” you can use the cards to give you song ideas, or play the game as a competition and see who can come up with the best song choice. Either way, grab your friends, grab a mic, connect to YouTube or your favorite karaoke music, and do it for the “kulture!”
