A Pretty Boss Mom: Meet Rebecca Barr

Rebecca Barr – Wealth Activator for Women, Money Mindset Coach, and Business Growth Strategist – Founder of The Femalepreneur Coach

Rebecca Barr activates ambitious female entrepreneurs to make more money by creating a rock-solid money mindset and by leveraging their time & expertise. Rebecca left her successful HR career to set up her business, The Femalepreneur Coach, to help other women become wildly wealthy through powerful money mindset work and simple business strategies.

After a traumatic start in life that included homelessness and losing her father very young, she refused to believe the childhood story she’d been told that she would never have money, and in fact, has created phenomenal success on her own terms. She is passionate about empowering others to write their own money story and never settle, something her clients achieve in abundance. She’s on a mission to change the money narrative for women around the world and is a single mum to five children, proving that you really can have it all.

 1. What is It like to run a successful brand while running your home as a Boss Mom?

Becoming my own boss, and feeling fully in charge, and empowered in my life, is the best decision that I ever made. Not only do I get to be super present with my 5 children, and be fully financially empowered, which is part of the work I do with my clients as a Money Mindset & Business Growth Mentor, but I also get to fulfill a deeper purpose in life too.

When I worked in a corporate role previously, I was only half the person I am now. I have more confidence, a stronger voice, and clearer boundaries and I make the world a better place through my work. I realized pretty quickly, however, that being supported at home is a non-negotiable. ‘You cannot pour from an empty cup’ hits at a deeper level when you add clients that you need to hold space for into the mix with children, a home, and pets!

I make sure to plan time off intentionally with the kids during half term, weekends, and holidays as it would be chaos trying to multitask. When I am with the kids, I’m with them, when I am working, I am working. I give myself permission to focus on one thing at a time and everyone wins.

I have also tightened up boundaries with clients so I no longer do evening calls and 1:1 support is reserved for private clients. I was worried it would affect my income but actually, it was the opposite! Me honoring my own boundaries meant I attracted a more discerning woman who was self-motivated and self-led, and who didn’t need so much of my physical time.

What has been your biggest challenge in balancing both career and motherhood?

Finding ways to grow my business that don’t require my personal energy has been a challenge at points. With both of my last 2 children I only had 1-day maternity leave, as when I stopped, my business stopped. Thankfully I’ve now found smart ways to leverage my time and energy so that I can take a step back when life inevitably gets in the way. I tried initially to balance my baby at home while I was working but as she has gotten older (she is now 1), I have invested in childcare so that I can be fully present with my clients and step more into the CEO role. Investing in a team who can support me has been a game-changer!

Behind every great woman is a group of other great women pushing her into greatness, who is your circle made up of?

I have always seen the value in community so mastermind groups have been essential in keeping me sane and inspiring me to continue to strive for more. I have also created my own mastermind program as it is such a core part of my values. When one woman rises, we all win and take a collective step forward in normalizing what it means to be a woman in business. This is especially important for working mums; when we have children so many of us struggle with societal conditioning that tells us that working hard means neglecting our kids, it couldn’t be further from the truth in reality!

What advice do you have for new moms wanting to jump-start their own entrepreneurship journey?

Every day is the perfect day to start adding value to others, so do not be intimidated by the journey. Don’t overcomplicate things, you can make money today from your phone if that is all you have available. Be intentional with your time and get to know the things that are actually going to move your business forward, don’t get busy doing all the things for the sake of it. Ask for help. Be in the community. Protect your energy from those that don’t support you. Invest in your own development. Take messy, inspired action, which is always better than no action at all. And most importantly, have fun!

What does being a Pretty Woman Who Hustles mean to you

She is a woman that knows the value that she brings to the table, and acts, thinks, and behaves from where she wants to go, rather than where she currently is.
