What was the inspiration behind your new book “My Kidneys Failed Me But God Didn’t! A Journey of Growth & Rediscovery,”
I had originally received my kidney and tried to forget it ever happened. Little did I know that my story would be the one to touch lives. Not only was it a healing journey for me, but I wrote the book to inspire others that are going through similar experiences or struggling with other sorts of challenges that no matter what it may look like, God won’t fail you.
What challenges did you have to overcome to get where you are today?
I had to be honest about what I was going through. I had to hold myself accountable for the things I was doing wrong in my life to get to that place. Not living a healthy lifestyle, taking my young age for granted, my stubbornness and ignorance to my illnesses. Once I got a hold of reality and had the hard conversations with myself, my life changed.
What has been the most rewarding part of your journey?
To be able to share my story. My biggest fear at the time was not being alive to share my testimony and having other people speaking on my behalf. God allowed me to live and share my story with the world in hopes to inspire and encouraging.
If you could tribute your career to one person or thing who would be and why?
It would be my grandmother. She always allowed me to chase my dreams and has always been my number one supporter. She never let me wallow in my sickness or feel sorry for myself. She pushed me to continue fighting for my life. I wouldn’t be here without her.
What tips do you have for men around the world with a story that needs to be shared, with no idea on where to start?
Most times we want to share our stories once it’s perfected. I challenge all men to share what you can now! The place you’re speaking from may save someone else’s life. Our stories are never ending. Allow someone’s life to be forever changed based on your willingness to be transparent in the moment.
What does success look like for you?
Success is planting seeds in the lives of others and getting the opportunity to see them sprout into something wonderful.
What is next for you?

What is your definition of a Man who hustles?
My definition of a Man who Hustles is someone who’s willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that they and their family is provided for, successful, and wins together. A man who’s willing to face the stigma placed on men head on to create a lasting legacy that will live on for generations.
