Being able to sit down with women making Herstory in their lane of expertise is always amazing to us. We had the pleasure to catch up with Cette 3 and ask a few questions about her journey thus far.
What inspired your start in music/entrepreneurship?
We have been performing since the age of 3. We started out professionally training, learning many styles of dance from Ballet and Jazz to Hip Hop. At the ages of 8 and 6, we began voice lessons. The Twins, Meniyah and Taneeyah, started gaining popularity on ig for their dancing abilities towards the end of 2019. In the fall of 2020 when we were home due to the pandemic, we utilized the extra time we had on our hands and formed our group, Cette 3.
What has been the highlight of your career thus far?
We recently launched a global partnership with H&M as a part of their “Current Crush” Campaign and we received a distribution deal with Create Music group.
If you could tribute your success to anyone in your life who would it be?
We owe all of our success to our parents, who always have supported us and continue to keep us grounded and encourage us to follow our dreams.
What message do you hope young girls take away from your platform?
Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone to get where you want to be. Block out any negativity and pursue your dreams no matter the hardships you may face.
What is your go-to quote for motivation?
Psalms 91:1-16. Our vocal coach who is also a gospel artist has asked us to read these scriptures every morning and night to keep ourselves uplifted and it has become a habit we now look to.
What does being a female making Herstory mean to you?
Being a female making Herstory means doing something positive that opens the doors for other young and old females who may be inspired by our work and story. We want to show our supporters that it is okay to step out on faith in your own lane and not always follow the trend.
