Pretty Women Hustle features Jazz Anderson – Women Empowerment Month

In the words of Beyonce, who runs the world? Girls! Women are on the rise and taking over the entertainment industry. Women are finally taking on a dominating role in the rap game and making their presence known and I am here for the girl power.

I had the pleasure of sitting down and speaking with reality tv personality, artist, rapper, entertainer, and co-host Jazz Anderson as we spoke about her rise as a female artist.

Anderson let me know that women are turning up and standing out in the entertainment industry now more than ever before. Women are changing the narrative of the well known male dominated industry and are coming out on top. With so many successful female rappers before her, Anderson is paving her own path and well on her way to stand alongside noteworthy artists. Previously seen on the hit tv series Basketball Wives, she has since then been featured on BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher, released her previous project Separation Anxiety and has an upcoming project titled The Experiment. Jazz Anderson is also co-host on Fox Souls The Mix, a talk show created for us by us alongside Romeo Miller, Zonnique Pullins, Jamie DuBose, and Anton Peeples.

Jazz Anderson is emerging from her shell and channeling all of her grown and sexy femine energy into her latest project, The Experiment. This album showcases more of her dominant and outspoken side, as opposed to her first project Separation Anxiety, where she focused more on her pen game and lyrics. Now, do not be mistaken, Jazz Anderson is still the same talented lyricists, but she is stepping into her light and offering a more playful lighthearted carefree vibe onto this newest release, projected to be out by late May early June; just in time for hot girl summer.

Ever since 14/15 Jazz mentioned she has loved music and hip hop. Growing up listening to albums like Kanye West College Dropout and Miseducation of Lauryn Hill influenced her love for hip hop. She stated she enjoys rap, music, literature/poetry, and the art of putting an image to a story.

“When you put words to a beat, you’re a rapper; I’ve always loved writing, so I applied it to hop hop.”

Giving all her success to God, without Him she would have not been granted access to some of the many opportunities she’s had. She is fortunate and will continue working hard and growing her fan base. It is important to see black women on the rise in the entertainment industry and Jazz is glad to be a part of the women on the rise and to be a role model to those who may be looking up to her and her journey.

I asked Jazz what advice she would have to those who may be looking up to her and her advice for other women in the entertainment industry, and she noted a great gem:

When you come to the game, change what is accepted, but dont change to be accepted”

*Snaps fingers* Preach sister!

On a playful note, I asked Jazz if she could only have 3 apps on her phone what would they be, in which she responded, her notes app, text messages, and Instagram! Despite my shade questioning all of Instagram’s updates and algorithm changes, Instagram shows Jazz love so that is her go to!  She’s been rocking with IG since the beginning so she’s not switching it up.

It was a pleasure speaking with Jazz, her lovable spirit and infectious smile was quite welcoming. Be sure to keep up with all of the great things Jazz has in store and stay connected via Instagram @JazzAnderson. Also tune into FoxSouls The Mix airing every Tuesday 7pm Pacific/ 10pm Eastern and be on the lookout for Jazz Anderson’s latest project  The Experiment set to release late May early June.
