She’s Making Herstory: Meet Kristel Robinson Bailey

Born and raised in Costa Rica, Spiritual Teacher, Life & Relationship Coach, and Motivational Speaker: Kristel Robinson Bailey is the mother of 3. She founded Can’t Break Me as a safe space to help women find peace, strength, and purpose.
Can’t Break Me is about empowerment through knowledge of who we are in God, and every day she is excited to see God at work, opening doors and providing opportunities for more women to be blessed with this experience.

Although this journey hasn’t been easy to create a traveling ministry during the pandemic, Kristel’s faith in God has been what keeps her going. Today, Kristel hosts a retreat to help beautiful women find light in the darkness.

Kristel believes that every challenge is an opportunity to increase our faith. We should embrace challenges as a way to build our character and refine who we are. Challenges cannot break us if we use them as a way to turn them into power.

What is the Can’t Break Me Retreat:

The Can’t Break Me Retreat was born as a space to find healing from heartbreak and trauma. It’s a sacred place to disconnect from the world and give all our burdens and pain to God. When we acknowledge who we are through God’s eyes we become unbreakable and unstoppable.

Can you describe the experience?

Can’t Break Me Retreat is a traveling wellness and healing retreat for women. Healing from within is the only way to embark on a journey of self-love and discovery.
At the Retreat, we spend 6 days with an intimate group of sisters on a sacred pilgrimage to embark on a journey of self-love and healing.

Dates: Retreat dates for 2022 May 21-26 & September 21 &26

The only way to stop settling is to live to honor him.

What inspired your start in entrepreneurship?
For me, it was a calling from God. He guided me to start this ministry to help women all over the world and I feel honored to be chosen to deliver such an empowering experience.

What has been the highlight of your career thus far?
Certainly, the journey hasn’t been easy, creating a traveling ministry in the middle of a pandemic can be seen as a terrible idea, but my faith in God keeps me going, and today I’m very happy to be hosting these retreats and help other beautiful women find light in The darkness.

My first retreat was confirmation of my calling and the materialization of a vision coming together. There’s nothing more rewarding than walking in purpose and seeing your dreams come true.
Hosting my very first retreat changed my life, I was able to reach another level of fulfillment that was associated directly with standing up for myself and believing in God’s plans for my life.

If you could tribute your success to anyone in your life who would it be?

It would be unfair to mention one person. I do have a small circle of people who have supported me through this journey in so many different ways. They know who they are and how thankful I am for their encouragement to keep going and helped me to believe in myself when things were not that easy.

But I would love to give all honor and glory to God primarily. I am here today leading this amazing traveling healing retreat because of his grace and favor upon my life.

What message do you hope Women take away from your platform?
I am an advocate of purpose, resilience, self-love, and empowerment but most Importantly of God’s unconditional love.
We can never claim our blessings until we let go of our burdens and Can’t Break Me Retreat is the place where this journey of acknowledgment begins. I believe that every challenge is an opportunity to increase our faith. We should Embrace challenges as a way to build our character and refine who we are. Do not settle. Don’t take it for granted your life. We are here for a purpose. We are not what happened to us and most importantly in God, we can acknowledge how powerful we are and be everything God has called us to be.

What is your go-to quote for motivation?
“Turn your wounds into purpose”

What has been your greatest lesson thus far?

One of my biggest lessons learned along the way is to “Go for it” it doesn’t matter what others think about you, or what others are doing if they support you or not. As long as you have the assurance from God, and the self-empowerment to believe in yourself, you can set the world on fire!

What does being a female making Herstory mean to you?
Is stepping out of our comfort zone and walking with purpose.
It means shutting down voices that say that we are inadequate and believing that we can and deserve better.

You can never break a woman who acknowledges her worth through God’s eyes and has found the courage to let go of everything and everyone not aligned with her purpose.

And this is what I want for my sisters, to be able to see themselves as the powerful, beautiful, and amazing sisters that they are.

I want you to break free from everything and everyone holding them back, it is my duty to share my secret to a better life and a better you.

Mind Talks with That Riverz Gurl: When to Let Go

Have you ever experienced some things in your life that was traumatizing and you just couldn’t let go of it? How did you handle the situation? Or was it handled at all? Letting go sometimes is very hard and can be mentally/emotionally draining if it is something that may acquire more time. I can think about all of the times where I’ve been in stressful situations that I was trying to control the end results, just to put myself in a deeper situation where I couldn’t let go of the problems. Let’s take a look at some steps when letting go.

  • Create a positive mantra to help with painful thoughts: Writing positive affirmations for yourself is a great step.
  • Practice mindfulness: Focus on the present instead of the situation or person.
  • Be gentle with yourself: Instead of talking down on yourself, tell yourself all the wonderful things you are. Don’t beat yourself up too much.
  • Allow the negative emotions to flow: If you are feeling angry, disappointed or even sad, feel those things instead of holding them all in. Be in your emotions.
  • Engage with self-care: What better way to take care of yourself then to focus on you! Take a mental health break and focus on you.
  • Talk about it: Don’t keep it all in! Talk with someone you trust such as family, a close friend or seeking a therapist is ideal. Whatever you do, don’t keep it bottled inside of you.
