Varonica is a 12-year-old, a multi award winning, social media influencer, kid entrepreneur, actress, model, dancer, musician and stand-up comedian.
Varonica started acting about 2 plus years ago and has been modeling for about 6 years. Prior to that she was already an amazing self taught drum player, a dancer/ Choreographer , pageant winner and just an all around amazing kid. She remains on the AB Honor Roll and is a rising 7th grader, all while also traveling doing movies, stage plays, fashion shows and being a brand ambassador for clothing lines, hosting events and reaching over 14 million views on her comedy, dance and entertainment videos online, as well as winning awards like The Atlanta Kids Choice Awards and more.
We had the amazing opportunity of speaking with VV to discuss her passion, her determination and her plans for the future. We are excited for you to take a look into her incredible story:
When did you realize you had a gift for entertaining others?
I feel like I’ve always been blessed by God with some amazing gifts from birth. I taught myself to play the drums by age 2 and I have always love to dance since I can remember. I’ve enjoyed bringing laugher and joy to others for a long time now.
Where would you say your family’s gift of comedy comes from?
It has just come to natural to all of us. We are a funny bunch of people and enjoy laughing and do almost anything to make others laugh. My grandparents definitely past it down to me.
What does a typical day in the life of VV look like?
A typical week day would sometimes be in person school but sometimes online on the road school. I have events and guest appearances during the day sometimes. Appearing at school events in NC and evening homework, dance or acting rehearsals about 2 to 3 days a week. Weekends are always busy. Sometimes it’s 2 days shows, stage plays or comedy events and even sometimes dance concerts or events with my dance Academy, iDance Praise Academy (I’m the Jr. Captain, my mom is the owner of the academy), and of course Sundays when we can go to church, I love church!!
How would you describe your creative process for videos?
I am an out of the box thinker, so my videos show my naturally funny true self. I live coming up with ideas to make my video creative and orginal.
Can you remember your first viral video, what did that experience feel like for you?
Wow, my 1st viral video was at least 3 years ago. I wanted to be a doll baby because I love baby dolls alot! I called myself “The hold my hand & I’ll walk with you” doll. I asked my sister to be my human owner. I told her the I was battery operated and she had to press the palm of my hand to get me to work and say my catch phrases. I asked mom and dad to record. They posted it and the next morning it was at over 3 million views. The people said they were amazed how I stayed in character while my sister and parents laughed and reacted in the background. I was about 8 or 9 years old. It was an amazing feeling and I’ve been on the move ever since. I’m so grateful to God because I love acting so much so to do this for a living has been so awesome.
Where do you hope to see your platform in the next 3-5 years? What are your hopes for the future?
I know That with God and my family support I will see myself on larger and greater platform and more major opportunities. I’ve done small film, ads, magazines, small shows, but I see myself in major films. I want to do something with Kel Mitchell, (Good Burger) a movie with Kevin Hart, and of course a tv series Tyler Perry. I’d love to have my social media show turned into an actual show, maybe even my own network!
What is your definition of a Pretty Girl Who Hustles?
My definition of a Pretty Girl Who Hustles is individuals like my mom, who is a business own and boss, loving God and fabulous! My sis a teen running her own business and myself. Girls like us who uplift others and motivate everyone around us while being great in our own way. Girls who don’t follow the crowd but lead with grace, integrity and love in every part of their lives!
