Kiara Jackson CEO of Showtime Productions, LLC

Kiara C. Jackson, also known as “Showtime” was nominated as Prince George’s County 40 under 40 honoree for all of her outstanding work in the community. She is an energetic youth advocate, middle school educator, professional entertainer and entrepreneur. At age three, she began taking dance lessons, exposing her as a young superstar, which molded her courageous and fearless personality. In 2016, Kiara served as the Director & Producer of her very first Fashion Show consisting of young girls between the ages of 9 and 16. This sold-out event opened her eyes to a fresh start of entrepreneurship.

Share your background and what led you to pageantry.

I attended Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. During my freshman year of college, I participated in my very first pageant, the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Miss Black & Gold Pageant. Unfortunately, I did not win or place in this competition, leaving me defeated. However, after being super involved in various organizations, serving in several leadership positions and becoming an influential figure on campus, a good friend of mine suggested that I run for Miss Lincoln University. This pageant was the biggest and BEST pageant on campus. This was an opportunity for me to serve as the Queen of the University, while impacting a large college community. Of course, I was beyond nervous but I faced my fear and became the 40th Miss Lincoln University during my senior year. This was a life changing experience for me. I got to plan programs/events, compete nationally, attend conferences throughout the states, AND serve as the face of my University along with the college President.

After graduating in 2015, I decided to continue my passion for pageantry, and start my own pageantry business. Miss Gorgeous Prince George’s Teen Pageant, an organization that grants a $1,000 scholarship to teens between ages 13 to 17. Showtime Productions, LLC was founded in 2017 and is still flourishing in Prince George’s, Maryland. My organization guarantees a life changing experience. We offer professional services for performing arts & public speaking while hosting empowerment workshops and community service events for the youth to enjoy.

Pageantry changed my life and my perspective on the true definition of BEAUTY, which stands for Being Educated Always Understanding the True You.

What do you enjoy the most?

What I enjoyed most was the impact I made amongst so many lives. Being idolized for simply being myself was such an incredible feeling. I had the pleasure of meeting young men & women who suffered from different traumas, that inspired to go to college to change their lifestyles. I also enjoyed creative different programs and serving as the keynote speaker for different events.

What is the mission of Showtime Productions, LLC?

Showtime Productions, LLC’s mission to uplift, inspire and elevate vouth in the community. It is organized exclusively to assist the youth with discovering their self-identities. Showtime Productions, LLC will provide diverse services that include but are not limited to: public speaking seminars, empowerment workshops, makeup and beauty programs. Our goal is to establish community engagement

Through performing arts, such as pageantry, dance, modeling and theater in effort to develop young patrons of the arts. The primary mission of Showtime Productions. LLC is to help maintain self-confidence and self- empowerment. Our programs are designed to unite the vouth in their communities, showing them the true definition of B.E.A.U.TY (Be Educated Always Understanding the True You).

OCTOBER / OVERDRAFT / OVERDRAWN

Overdraft protection is a feature a financial institution or a bank provides to customers when the balance in the account does not have enough money to pay for the most recent transaction(s).This feature may or may not cost extra.

Example: You purchase a pair of new shoes. The total amount for the shoes is $98.56. The purchase is approved, but you only have $86.32 in your checking account. The difference of $12.24 will be paid by the bank, until you deposit the $12.24. If you have ‘overdraft protection’ on the account.

If you do not have ‘overdraft protection’ your account will be overdrawn by $12.24, and additional fees may be added for you to also pay because you now owe the bank $12.24. When an account is overdrawn, banks add fees because, you did not have enough money in the account. Additional fees can start at $5 and up. These additional fees can increase daily until the money is collected from you to cover the $12.24, which will have increased because you did not have enough money in the account to begin with.

As we approach the holiday season, be mindful of the balance in your account(s). Check your balance daily and keep a record of what you are buying and the amount. Hint “there’s and app for that”.

As always keep your mind on your money! www.lalanonprofit.org

Angelina Cortez bringing Luxury to your Pets

A pet advocate from New York City, New York, Angelina’s love for animals dates back to her early childhood with her family cat, Lady Fingers. The faith-based warrior holds multiple Bachelor’s Degrees in Nutrition, Accounting, Business Administration with a focus in Entrepreneurship and Marketing which prepared her for multiple career ventures. Before founding her pet amenities corporation, Cortez worked as a sports reporter, actress, and fashion model.

As an avid traveler, Angelina always brought her cats along and constantly searched for efficient ways for them to travel. Her struggles and those of other pet lovers inspired her to launch PETS2GO International.

PETS2Go International is a luxury, pet hospitality, and amenity brand bridging the gap between hotels and the luxury pet travel experience. Pets2Go currently provides travelers with luxury pet amenity gift packs and emergency comfort kits to accommodate pet hospitality needs via their PuppyMini and KittyMini Kits.

As the CEO of PETS2GO International, Angelina focuses on creating opportunities and introducing high-end products to the hospitality and travel industries. She understands, “pets are an integral part of the family and hotel guests want their pets to enjoy luxury accommodations and amenities just as they do.”

In the future, Angelina intends for Pet2Go to be federally funded so that she can build animal rescue terminals where pets can find grace and peace before being rehomed. She also wants to make Pets2Go an international name throughout the hospitality and travel industries. As a member of the Greater Miami Beaches and Hotels Association, American Hotel and Lodging Association, and Asian American Hotel Owners Association, and with recent praise from IHG Hotel and Resorts, she is well on her way.

As a community give-back, Pets2Go International regularly partners with local pet shelter, Rescue Me Georgia to host live adoptions at their on-site pet rescue hub—located at their Georgia corporate fulfillment center.

Cortez is a wife and mother of two for whom she vows to create generational wealth. She is inspired by mothers and fathers alike who blindly step out on faith to create their own
lanes in which they can thrive. Her hobbies include roller skating with her daughter, guest-starring on podcasts, and brand development for Pet2Go expansion and subsidiaries.

We had the opportunity to sit down with Angelina to discuss her inspiration behind her growing brand.

Who is Angelina Cortez, in three words?
Believer, Faithful, Trailblazer.

When did you discover your calling into entrepreneurship?
I always knew that I wasn’t meant to be at a 9 to 5 when I joined the army and had to show up every day and sit my creativity in the corner. I saw solutions I had for many of the issues I have been introduced into and yet these solutions were equivalent to nothing in that space. I wanted to be able to use my natural abilities to create new opportunities for myself and others and truly make a difference.

What inspired the start of Pets2go?
I would travel with my cat Pumpkin and we stayed at hotels and there were never any products available that the hotels could provide, so I created them!

What current products and services are offered with Pets2go?
Hospitality Pet Amenity Gift Packs, Dog Birthday Gift Packs, sympathy Gift Packs, and Valentine’s Day Puppy Love Gift Packs for those who love their pooches!

Who is Alexandria Gomez in five words?

Lexie is a beautiful, intelligent, hustler, motivator, and powerhouse of a woman.

When did you discover your passion for the beauty industry, specifically Lashes?

I discovered my passion for lashes in 2015 when I use to strip in the strip club and used strip lashes but wanted to get out so I then started doing makeup for the beauty counter Bobbi brown and I actually received a gift certificate to have mine done from my mom who was a single mom as well as I am today and my life was forever changed. I said this right here is what I want to do I’m going to become the next BEST lash artist. And I never looked back only forward.

You hold many titles as a salon owner, business coach, lash product creator and so much more, how do you balance it all?

I have always been a multitasker in life and if it wasn’t for my team at LNY I wouldn’t have had been able to become successful and let my creative juices flow. I had the help of Virtual Assistants that perform many tasks such as answering calls, reading emails, and helping me achieve success so that I am able to produce and be successful. I am actually a single mom currently and only focusing on my courses, products, my book “Habits of a Successful Lash Artist” on Amazon, and podcast at the moment.

What do self-care and me-time currently look like for you?

A Lot of your time is spent nurturing and teaching upcoming entrepreneurs, What advice do you have for the next generation of lash artists?

If I could tell one thing to the next generation of lash artists is to “ Don’t sleep on the clock” and to always “Dream Big” bc all you have is time and in a blink of an eye that time will pass you by so make the most of every second you have and hustle every moment you have like it’s your last day here. And to never stop dreaming bc anything can be possible if you put your mind to it and want it bad enough.

Tell us about your new book “Habits of a Successful Lash Artist”? Habits of a Successful Lash Artist is a book about the “ins and outs” of the basic training of becoming a 6 figure lash artist as well as the exact process I have taken step by step

In order to become a successful Classic Lash artist. You may find my book on Amazon.

What can women expect when entering the doors of Lash New York? When you enter the doors of LNY you feel as if I’ve brought New York to Pittsburgh. It is cozy, and you are able to sit in your red vintage thrones with the skyline of Manhattan in the back round and each private lash room with a photo of each borough of Lash New York as well as be treated with great customer service.

Waste My Time with R&B Sensation Alexis Ray Parker

Alexis Ray Parker is a singer, songwriter, and actress born in Pine Bluff, AR, and raised in Conway, AR. Following in the footsteps of her musical family, Alexis drew inspiration from the beautiful voice of her mother and began singing at the age of two. Performing in several talent shows across the south, as she matured so did her gift. With a love for battle rap as her foundation for lyrical composition, Alexis wrote her first song in the second grade and continues to provide musical adventures with her voice and pen. like those on her 2020 EP With Love, Alexis Ray Parker, in 2020. Alexis’ accolades include placements in 2 Minutes of Fame, working with Ja’Niyah (Bread Gang Music Group; MoneyBagg Yo), and being the First Lady of Change the Game Records, LLC.

I had the amazing opportunity of sitting down with Alexis to discuss her passion and inspiration behind her music. Take a listen to her new song “Waste My Time” available everywhere now

Who is Alexis Ray Parker in five words?

Alexis Ray Parker is Ambitious, intelligent, Spontaneous, Humorous, and Loving

At what moment did you discover your passion for music?

I discovered my passion for music at about age 7. That’s when I started writing my own songs.

Why R&B, what speaks to you most?

R&B was the best choice for me because it’s a challenge. Rapping was something that always came easy to me, but I learned how to actually structure a song by making R&B music. That’s essentially what made me a better artist. I’m big on challenging myself.

Who would you tribute your love for music to, who are your influences?

I would tribute my love for music to my parents and my grandfather. I’ve been obsessed since I was a little girl. It wasn’t just about liking music. It was about how music made me feel. I’ve always had a very deep connection with it. Like a spiritual connection. My influences are Lauryn Hill, Kanye West, Marvin Gaye, Anita Baker, The Isley Brothers, Jay-Z, and Michael Jackson.

You just released a hit “Waste My Time”, this song is an anthem for women, what inspired this song?

I was in a relationship with someone for a while, and one day he just decided he didn’t want to be with me anymore. No real explanation. I later found out that he had been dating someone else, but that pretty much sums it up.

Take us through the creative process?

Typically, my creative process in the studio is going in and talking with my producer about what’s going on in my life, and creating music based on my personal experiences. Everything is from scratch. That’s how I’ve always operated pretty much.

\Where do you hope to see your brand in the future?

I would really like to be more than just a musical artist. I love acting. I love fashion, and more recently I’ve been researching buying and flipping homes to sell them for higher value. I have a lot that I want to do.

If you could collaborate with anyone in the world who would it be?

if I could collaborate with anyone it would probably be Lauryn Hill, Andre 3000, Kanye West, Jhene Aiko, or H.E.R.

What’s next for Alexis Ray Parker?

Right now I’m finishing up my next project. It’s titled Do Not Disturb. I plan on releasing it at the top of 2022.

What is your definition of a Pretty Woman Who Hustles?

My definition of a pretty woman who hustles is just simply a woman who is sure of herself. A woman who is secure in every aspect and knows what she wants, doesn’t step on any one’s toes or tear anyone down to get to where she wants to go, but gets it by any means, meaning nothing can stop her.

When did your love for fitness and wellness begin?

As a former athlete, training in soccer to cheer and dance, staying active has always been a part of my life. In all the sports I’ve played, conditioning of the body was very important and emphasized in order for peak performance. Relying on my muscle memory or athletic physique was a mistake as I got older. It wasn’t until the pandemic hit and we were forced to stay inactive that I noticed changes in my body from not working out. I knew something had to change so I began to focus strictly on good dieting and cardio daily during the pandemic and fell in love with it. The rest was history!

If you could tribute your success to anyone who would it be?

My success comes from God and myself. I believe we are motivated by others, but ultimately success comes from within. Why? Because we define it. Since we are the ones that determine when we are successful, we make it all happen. Nothing I’ve ever done came easy, but I’ve never expected it to. I really am a strong believer in discipline and hard work so it’s been amazing seeing what comes out of that.

Some may not know you also have a brand dedicated to skincare, can you tell us about Muze Labs?

Convenience is important to people in fitness or with active lifestyles. Muze Labs is a routine-based skincare system backed by myself, a pharmacist and fitness influencer, built with clean ingredients to combat sweat and provide positive long-lasting effects for the skin. It is inspired by active individuals and athletes that perform at their best and we believe their skincare should too. Our 3-minute pre and post-workout skin sessions will transform your skin as you transform your body. Muze does it all because you do it all.

You have a new fitness app that just launched, tell us about it?

The Dr. Robin B app was created to help busy professionals transform their minds, body, and spirit through effective workouts and optimized nutrition plans. As a pharmacist, I have a holistic approach to health from the inside out and these easy-to-follow online workouts will get you to your fitness goal. There are programs, targeted workouts, recipes, discounts on athletic gear, nutrition guides, music playlists all personally curated and demonstrated by yours truly.

What can women expect from your app, what are the benefits?

Women can expect to build lean muscle, curves, gain abs, and boost their overall immunity through my exercises. There’s also an online community where we can talk and discuss progress. The cute workout clothes don’t hurt either!

How can readers sign up for your new E-Course Academy? It’s not available yet, but stay tuned into to my Instagram page for announcements!

What is next for you?

There is so much releasing for me at the top of this year. All of which will add value to each and every one of my followers and supporters. No more playing small. These projects have been in the works for months and now it’s time to share them with the world.

What is your definition of a Pretty Woman Who Hustles?

A pretty woman who hustles isn’t afraid to take chances. She tackles every obstacle with fierce femininity and helps out other women around her. She never limits herself. She doesn’t give up on a dream and executes every time. That’s a pretty woman who hustles!

We had the opportunity to catch up with Tyressa Ty to really gain insight on her passion and what inspired her start in the entertainment industry.

At the end of the day, when the lights and cameras are off who exactly is Tyressa Ty in four words?
Faith driven, Lover, Fun and Giver

When did you discover your love for people and hosting?

My mom would say it was when I was about 5. I would make my cousin sit down and listen to me talk, teach, or whatever allowed me to stand in front of an audience lol. My family always said I would make a little present so that everyone in my huge family had something for Christmas.
So, it started around the time I could color inside the lines. I began my love for people and the mic. I truly love good humans. I find myself sparking conversations with strangers in the mall lol. My love comes with loyalty. I truly have a special love for my family, friends, work-family, Pastor, and Church.

You have been in the game for a long time, and have excelled at your gift, what has been the most rewarding part of your career so far?

I can’t disregard the pain and the valleys as they’re a part of the story and glory of it all. I’ve been blessed to have so many mind-blowing moments. I believe meeting Oprah before working with Doug E Fresh was my most proudest-actually being invited to her laugh party.

I would say having the opportunity to meet Tyler Perry and experience the 2day launch of his new studio. That was an experience that is hard to explain or forget. Everyone that was somebody was in attendance.

Those were experiences outside of working as Doug E Fresh Road manager. Of course, it has been an exciting ride working beside him! However, I learned so much under the leadership of his DJ Chill Will that took my skill set in the industry to a whole new level, & afforded me additional opportunities that I didn’t see coming.

Can you share some of your most challenging moments?

Before going through my current cancer diagnosis, Losing my grandmother was the absolute hardest thing I’ve ever experienced. I felt that after Hurricane Katrina I was experiencing so much loss that I couldn’t come up for air. I lost my home, went through a divorce, lost both grandparents months apart, and then my job.

After losing my job, I couldn’t afford to pay my house note & went into foreclosure; as a single mom, I was frantic with nowhere to turn. It was like I couldn’t see my way for the 1st time in my life -like I was thrown into a fire to burn. (Read my book)

If you could advise the next generation of Hosts, PR Professionals, etc what would it be?

Study the greats, offer your skills for experience-the money will come, and stay ready so when an opportunity presents itself you don’t have to get ready.

You are the author of “Matters of the Mind”, you can share the message behind this book?

It was a play on words from the scripture- so a man thinks, so is he. The things that matter to you are what you will constantly think of. What you think you’ll say – manifestation rather good or bad starts with a thought. It’s so important to control your thoughts, and find ways to Channel those ideas, and feelings into positive, or they will consume you and keep you in bondage. The mind is powerful it can have people living in their past never being able to escape their past, and live in the moment or the future.

If you could collaborate with anyone in the world who would it be?

I speak and believe I will be working with Tyler Perry.

What is next for Tyressa Ty?

I have so many exciting things in the works. I will be revealing my new bath and body line, Saint Richel. Which I discovered while going through my cancer process. I figured if I needed it, others who suffer from dry skin due to diseases and eczema would as well.
I am releasing a new class called “pain to purpose” along with an amazing planner with purpose.
If you know me or follow me, you know I’m full Fiyah and surprises lol.

Reka Robinson – Slaying Self Love

Ladies, have you ever been in a relationship where you felt you had no voice? Well, radio veteran, entrepreneur and certified NLP Life Coach Reka Robinson knows exactly what that feels like –  which may sound odd, considering the award-winning on-air personality has made a career from expressing herself for over 15 years. Still, in life away from music and entertainment, the Seattle native’s encounter with emotional abuse at the hands of a boyfriend forced her into a deep search for identity and self worth.

Now, as the “Single Girls Life Coach,” she is helping other women to discover their voices, to recognize that being single is not a punishment, and that their relationships with men should no longer define them. Through her growing Single You Academy and Single You Podcast, Robinson offers advice and counseling to women who desire to free themselves from tying their identity to men, so stop being doormats for men, and to recognize that they are powerful all on their own.

We had the pleasure of sitting down with Reka and discussing her journey and process to becoming The “Single Girls Life Coach”. Watch our full interview below and connect with Reka online at singleyouacademy.com

Advocating Through Strategic Planning, Entrepreneur and Boss Babe Gives Solutions one Creation at a time!

Patrice: How are you an advocate for other people who aren’t advocates for themselves? Could you explain that for the readers?

Nancy: Oftentimes, people who are underserved or in unfortunate situations tend to accept their current experience. Sometimes fear, mindset or acceptance is what holds people back from creating the change they want to see. I’ve always been the person who intervened for those people to create change in their lives.

Patrice: You have been creating and designing new programs to help other people’s business grow. What techniques or strategies do you offer to business owners of that nature?

Nancy: A big part of my process is strategic planning where I push business owners to think long term (5-10yrs out). I then have them backwards plan their impact & income. It’s a very interesting exercise that helps business owners put their vision into reality and action. When you are planned up you realize that 18 months is not a lot of time.

Patrice: What does being an entrepreneur mean to you?

Nancy: To me, being an entrepreneur is about creating innovative solutions to serve others. Entrepreneurship is about solving problems. When you solve problems for humanity you will certainly have a product or service that can withstand the test if time.

Patrice: What is the name of your business and how can it help other people in communities all over?

Nancy: Strategic Solutions LLC is a Business Literacy consulting firm. Our mission is to support small businesses and get the entrepreneurial skills they need to have a business that has longevity.

Patrice: Tell us more about the Blac Model and what was the motivation behind creating this?

Nancy: Strategic Solutions LLC is a Business Literacy consulting firm. I developed the BLAC Model framework in response to the financial and business literacy gaps in our system. I haven’t met a business owner who doesn’t want to build longevity and make income; Our BLAC Model ensures that longevity & financial success happens within business.

Patrice: To you, what does a pretty woman who hustles mean to you?

Nancy: To me, pretty woman hustle is about disrupting the current narrative. People often associate being a pretty woman with being helpless, or a person who has a man take care of her. Being a pretty woman who hustles is all about celebrating all the beautiful women who know how to get their own bag!

Patrice: Are there any projects you are currently working on for the remainder of the year?

Nancy: I have a major project coming up. This October we are facilitating a Global LeadHERship Retreat in Lagos Nigeria where we will have a 6 -day experience learning to reimagine our vision and unlock the barriers on our minds. The Last day on October 18th we will have a LeadHership Expo to discuss the importance of LeadHership. This event will be streamed live and we are hoping to have a Global audience of up to 3,000 people. To register and learn more about the LeadHership Expo go to WWW.StrategicSolutionsLLC.org

Patrice: For new business owners who are still struggling with their business and gaining consistent clientele, what advice do you have for them?

Nancy: Focus on building the brand and connecting with your target audience. People just don’t buy products or services; they buy into stories. When your story resonates and connects with your audience you’ll see an increase in clientele. Always remember to be consistent. Building a business brand takes time, have fun, be consistent and learn while doing it.

All Things Positivity with Natalie Taste of YourInnerFatGirl

Natalie Tate has always aimed for her brand to be a place of acceptance and self love. To stray away from compromising her true self to fit within a certain standard. YourInnerFatGirl may have begun as a way to share Natalie’s love of food and the Crescent City, she has made a name for herself with over thousands of followers that she pushes to be beautiful from the inside out.

The success of “YourInnerFatGirl” has led to Tate being featured on Buzzfeed, co-host of local radio shows in New Orleans, and being invited to many panel discussions regarding entrepreneurship and branding. ‘

YourInnerFatGirl is a company that stands on positivity, promotes self love and supports all.

We had the amazing opportunity to catch up with Natalie Taste and discuss the history and mission behind her brand “YourInnerFatGirl”.

Who is Natalie, when all of the cameras and blogs go away?

I have a chill personality with sweet and sour flavors. I’m goofy with a sassy side that’s itching to come out after a couple of drinks. I enjoy nature, swanky dinners, comedic action movies, travel, and hanging with my friends and family.

What inspired the start of “Your Inner Fat Girl

The aesthetic. I always paid attention to how my food was served and that was whether I dined out, cooked, or serving someone. I can see myself taking a photo and say to myself “somebody gotta see this shit” haha. It wouldn’t be solely the food, it would be the details around it (shades, handbags, views) In a way, it seems like I had an interest in food photography.

What message do you hope women take away from your brand?

I want women to look at my brand and feel confident in all that they do. I want women to be inspired to stay true to themselves at all times, not only when convenient. In the social media space, it takes strength to not get into the mix of what everyone else is doing to drive up likes on and offline.

What has been your biggest challenge thus far in your career?

My biggest challenge is seeing projects through. The ideation is the fun part and then comes the logistics of planning and budgeting. Making sure the reward is worth the input of effort.

What advice do you have for an upcoming entrepreneur?

Take your time to think of how the business will be able to scale years out and also adapt to the changes we’re forever undergoing.

What is your definition of a Pretty Woman Who Hustles?

I think it’s self-explanatory. Perhaps a pretty woman who looks fierce and is also a businesswoman making moves, sealing deals.
